Consider yourself lucky you even have a delete key.

No, no, no... that's not what he meant.

I wish I could answer that. I've never changed my key assignments around before.

Flag, yes there is a file. I don't know which one it is. If nobody has given the right answer yet, I'm assuming it's not a well known file. Do a search for "decks awash". I remember once somebody mentioning how to change the file. Actually check the newbie guide, button thread, one of the stickies at the top, somebody says how to assign the ; key from snorkel depth to decks awash. That may lead you in the right direction.
EDIT: try this: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...1&postcount=41 |

Did you press 'Num Lock' first?

Yes. If it worked for you in the past then you had 'NumLock' on. If 'NumLock' is off the 'Del' key won't work.

Looks like he's having a problem finding his Num Lock key

what does one do if one is a laptop user and has NO delete key with the numberpad built into the function key as my laptop is configured.
Guessing the OP has similar setup to myself. |

If you have a numberpad on the far right side of the 'board, look at the row of keys above the 7-8-9, or at other rows/columns of keys surrounding the numberpad. The NumLock toggles the numberpad keys between numbers and the other functions/characters shown on them so it's usually close by there.
(I am overly familiar with the NumLock as my job involves a huge amount of data entry which is 90% numbers, hitting the NumLock by accident and turning the numbers "off" in the middle of a long sequence of data I'm typing is one of my little daily frustrations. ![]() |

![]() I'm pretty sure the way it works for SH3 is that removing the interface overlay from the display is actually tied to the other function of the Del key on the numberpad (which in many cases is a '.' which serves as a decimal point for easier numerical data entry). The NumLock toggles the function of that key between Del and whatever else it does, and it's the "whatever else" that's tied to the interface on/off command in the game... which gets lost when the NumLock is off and that key functions as Del instead. |
