Default Most Realistic SH4/U-boat missions Mod?

I know that this is relative to what is realistic. But what is the best realistic mod for both SH4 and Uboat missions?

Define realism as it applies to you.

RFB attempts to make everything in the game behave realistically. TMO attempts to make you behave realistically.

There are no more mods out there, than you'll be able to test out yourself.

And btw. there are loads of threads in this forum with regards of what mod to choose, so check these out.

Me? TMO all the way...

Flavoured to taste of course...

Nicely put! Then again, see a complain thread posted today with regards of a blind crew in RFB?

I think that's the key right there. No single mod is going to be the "most realistic" for everyone.

It realistically models the fact the watchman dropped his glasses overboard?

I tried TMO but ran into a lot of weird glitches...

Like my instruments blocking access to my crew management screen. I was unable to man the AA because I'd end up clicking on the speed or direction dials trying to get someone to man them...
And when I do manage to get the AA working, the guns suddenly are alive despite the fact that there is no gunner manning them.
Guns, shooting on their own... but no gunner manning them... it's like HAL2000 transcended time and space to haunt me for making fun of that movie.

And the graphics are weird... Like... plastic toy weird.

I know I'm doing a lot of complaining, but are their ways to fix the things in that mod (TMO) that annoy you?

For UBM? There is Operation Monsun. That's it, no others available.

Good thing it's up there with the best of them.

Use ´Del´-key on numeric keyboard (NumLock enabled) to removed blocking HUD. A larger screen/resolution is recommended.

Due to a diving bug in SHIV, Ducimus ask us to manually move crew from/to Hogans Allay when needed. That way they won't be killed *if* you should get depthcharged...

And the graphics? Using high TC over longer periods of time sometimes get the graphics engine to struggle and make the sea looks odd. A save/reload cures it.
What CPU/GPU do you have?

My personal problem is that I have to play in a linear fashion, and I never quite get to 1943.

Thanks for the reminder.

Far more Kapitäins started in 43 than in 39, so it's perfectly plausible to start a career in 43! Or later...

thats because your using the wrong screen resolution, Ducimus set things up for the resolution that works for him

your "in game" resolution isnt the same thing as your monitor resolution so dont set them the same

Of course it is! I didn't say I was right, I said it was my personal problem. It started with SH1, when they offered me the option to start at Pearl or at Manila. I couldn't decide, and wouldn't let it choose for me (which would have been the most realistic option) so I started one of each. When Brisbane opened up I started a career there as well. When a captain died or retired I started a new career the same place and month.

Unfortunately I'm now running three careers in SH3 and three in SH4 UBM, which means I'll finally get to start playing the American side in SH4 in...I don't know...never probably. I admit it's a sickness, but I'm stuck with it. I can't just jump around - my brain doesn't work that way.

Nice to hear someone has the same brain "defect" - I guess
Can't get rid of the Silversides and would really, really like to do a japanese career and a long trip in the IXD2 (again) and also the mighty Surcouf - and the british subs!! but hopelessly stuck in this bucket

Perhaps in the New Year ...of 2016

Or... subs are like women? Love 'em all - but stuck with one?

Happy New Year! Cheers to modders!

So... which one works best for both SH4 and SH4 Uboat missions?
