Default How do get TDC to work

Hi all,

I bought my SH5 just after it came out and really have not played much. Was going to hit it hard over xmas holiday. So I did patch update and downloaded the mod with the TDC (dark wraith).

Got it all up and going but what is the trick to get the TDC to work. So I have it in manual. I have the XO turn it on and I enter data but it will not track the contact (so bearing does not update, AOB does not update etc.). Is it functioning or just a way to input data.

Also using the stadimeter for range but there is no MHH to input so I'm not sure what range I am getting.

Also what is the factor for using the scale on the different periscopes and without a MHH how can I use it. I seem to be missing something here.

Or is the crew suppose to do all this so I'm just not given the data??

Hi Bluenose

Not sure about the XO, I always have him hidden. There is a click button at top right that will "Hide XO".

he will pop up for target id but then hides again. if you toggle him.

With this you can use the dials as normal.

Green to input data, Red to lock data in and track target.

In order to track the contact you need to enable the follow target feature (WEPS-->Follow target) (ensure target in crosshairs first)

MHH I'm assuming is mast height something? If so, it's automatically input for you by the mod. Just use the stadimeter to get the range reading!

Hi Dark Wraith,

Yes MHH is mast head height.

I think I have had he follow target on. Is there something I need to enable in the mod. I'm not seeing the dials move.

I get the scope on the target and do the weps follow. Then I click the button in the middle so it goes green and I click on the xo and have him turn on the tdc. I've never had the xo id a target though. I'm playing in the historical mode right now so not sure if that impacts it.

you won't see the dials move if you click the button in the middle of the TDC dials and it goes green. That means you're in manual mode. You need to be in auto mode (red) for the dials to be automatically updated.

The XO won't ID a target. WEPS will though (WEPS-->Identify target)

And yes you need to turn the TDC on like you did

Darewraith

Got it. I was playing with it again last night as you suggested. I inputed on green then clicked to red. But did not see the dials move. I had the bismark in the historical mission at about 2000 m with a 90 deg AOB. So the bearing rate should have been reasonable and the AOB indicator should have been changing. Let me play with it some more tonight.

When I did the install with the jones software there were about 10 or so mods in the pack. I only installed the TDC mod. Should I have installed all of them?

Thanks in advance for the help. Mod looks great by the way.
