Request Permission To Come Aboard......

Greeting folks. I have played SH3 - SH5 (even though I'm stuck in SH5). I am looking forward to advice especially regarding SH5 since it seems to be quite a bit different then the prior SH series releases. Still can't figure out the best target/firing sequence for torpedos in SH5.

Default Welcome

Hi and welcome aboard.

SH5 is different, but gets more enjoyable with mods. As to the torpedo firing, I have only done it in two ways, with the little numbered circles and, with mods, telling the weapons officer to do it. I've missed a lot more with the weapons officer doing it.

The numbered circles are definitely not realism. You get your circles lined up with the target. A three is a long shot but might hit if the target stays on course. A 2 is medium range, and a 1 is short range and almost always hits.

For realism, I prefer the weapons officer. I never could do the math properly myself.
