This just for my own use for now, as I need to contact several people whose mods I've been playing with, but basically it's designed as universal guage for all type VII boats, based on the following crush-depths:

VII B, C - 220m
VII C/41 - 250m
VII C/42 - 400m

The red-arcs commence at 10m prior to crush depth for each type.

Used with Capt America's 400m mod, and then timetravellers depth mod, it seems to work well.

I'd like to tinker with it awhile, and obviously talk to the people whose mods I've used before putting it out, in the meantime - thoughts? I'm planning a similar one for type 9 boats.

I like it, the old eyes are fading a bit now so dials like this a great, I wouldn't mind a lager compass dial too while we are on the subject.

Thanks, I've tinkered with it a bit more, adding "luminous paint" and markers for clarity of absolute crush-depth.

Nice one...but...for realisms sake. I guess you wouldnt have a gauge in your VIIB in 1940 that would tell you what the crushdepth for a VIIC in 1942 is. I believe its an anacronism.

Your gauge looks super nice. Great job on it, especially the lighting. But if you want all those realism nuts out there to use this one (who, me?? ), you should also release a version without the references to the seperate crush depths.

Thanks for listening

The problem there is that there are 5 different crush depths for the VII/IX and XXI figures at least depending on whose figures you believe. There comes a point where it's simply less hassle to present the information for a series of subs, disregarding anachronisms, simply for the practicality of being able to use the Tiefenmesser without worrying about if you remembered to install the "correct" Tiefenmesser for the particular boat you'r in. I'm proposing to 2 "combined" 400m Tiefenmessers, one for VII's and one for IX's.

That said, I'm happy to produce pukka ones that only show the crush depth for a particular sub, I use Paintshop Pro with multi-layered images, so it's very straightforward to swap around the coloured arcs.

Looks great. Now if you could do the same thing for the compass I would be hog heaven.

I presume it's the mini-compass you're interested in?

Well, I also meant that you should release a version without the specific markings for each sub (type VII, VIIC41, VIIC42, or IX).
Just a regular ol' depth meter, mostly similar to the one in your screenshots...

0-150m green
150-250 yellow
250-400 red

I really just love the lighting and the clarity of your gauge. When you release it, I think I will stare at it often...

Righto that should be easy enough. Do you want it for the IX or VII or both, and if both, with same markings?

I guess you can make it for both types (VII and IX) and with identical markings...

Depends on what everyone else wants...

I've got a bunch of gauges I want to redo, especially compasses! I'll work gently towards getting a set out once I've contacted a few people whose mods i'm modding as it were!
