A house divided cannot stand. Personally I believe that by aligning yourself with one party or another you are contributing to that division.

So the question is, how do we break away from the two-party system, and what will replace it?

the question is not breaking away from the two party system.

the question is; how do we encourage the leadership within the parties to work together in a bipartisan way to give us the best possible result?

the answer is - revolution.

"a little revolution is a good thing, dont you think?"

once every few decades you have to - as a voting people - shake things up... throw everything on its side.

i think thats why there have been so many tea party successes recently.

people are upset with the dems over their recent activities... and they are sick of republicans for their past transgressions.

so - hopefully - you will see old timers who have held on to their seats for a long time getting the boot and being replaced with fresh representation.

you have to send the leadership a message that none of their jobs are safe

Why should we expect the leadership of the parties to work together when the citizens they represent are so polarized?
(No offense to those quoted, just citing an example)

Well for one I wasn't even trying to conceal anything so if it was obvious then I made my point .

So what actually the Republicans stand for again? Torture? Going to war based on lying to the American public, reeling the economy by expending so much for two wars on extended period of time perhaps even neglecting the economy altogether?

But like I said I'm neither a Democrat nor a Republican, so if you can explain to me what the Republicans now stand for that's the opposite of Mr Obama's and if they are good and honest I'll defend them likewise.

HONEST! I'LL you just have to convince me.

One party fascism?

So thou shalt not be divided among yourselves in your own house.

And replace them with new leadership, representing the same views, each one unacceptable to the other side?

That accomplishes nothing, except getting new names in the news...

We the people hold the ultimate power in the United States. We choose who will be our President and our Congressmen. It is the duty and responsibility of every citizen to become informed about the candidates and their stances. From there the people can determine the path that America takes. If you vote someone in and they don't follow through then vote them out next election and let someone else take their place.

You may find the citizens are more aligned to the center than you think.

They are polarized because the leadership is polarizing and divisive.

And, unfortunately the leadership does a great deal of thinking for a lot of people out there

If there were 50 new ones started a day? Yeah, I probably would.

Short memory, then, because they seemed about as frequent as the anti-Obama threads are now.

Bottom line? There's a palpable anger out there regarding this guy.

Perhaps you're neither Republican or Democrat but you're certainly a Daily Kos far left liberal, due to your usage of the standard talking points. As such, there's very little point in attempting to reason with you.
