Hi Fubar2Niner,

The only thing left to do before i make the video is to render my ambient occlusion pass for each 4 parts of the deck.

I work all night long putting the finishing touch to the sub, after a coffee or two i will start making the video and by the evening it should be online i was hoping for the afternoon but i wake up too late!

Best regards Hans,

Not wanting to dilute the effect but I'm more looking forward to the actual finished product

Hi Jimbuna,

I understand that but if you have a look in one of my post i just mention a precise beta release date around Halloween.

The video i made serve a double purpose it is not only to show new features in game, it is also for a new course i am making for my students call Video game asset integration.

Remember i start that project last spring and so far i made a complete new interface, new highly detail models but well optimize, exclusive 3d artwork that show in loading screen and others in game menu, rebuild the complete interior and just to re assemble it took age.

And lot of new stuff i ad and the list go on and on, so as you can see the scope of what i did for a solo guy is tremendous, you will believe what i mean when you try it for the first time.

Best regards Hans,

Hi privateer,

Nice to see you again my friend, i have been busy since last spring every single minute of my spare time went on that project.

Now i am pretty comfortable with S3d and the SH3 files even the menu ini

I will release it around Halloween with the crew all disguise as tyrol singers

U-BOOTTYPIIA_HAHD is all based on the early typ IIA as you know but i didn't modify the stock gameplay because when i want to play ultra realism i just load my GWX version.

If the GWX team or any talented modders want to use part of my mod in GWX or any others mods they will have my full support and all permissions granted.

But since even if they are well optimize some models in my mod will probably ad to much load with all the GWX add ons on the game engine i am not sure how much is too much for the engine.

On my 3 years old system it is silky smooth with almost no fps lost.

Best regards Hans,

Hi Hans,

I am always thrilled when someone pushes the 'next step' in SH Games.

I am mostly thrilled at advancements in SH3!
By all standards?
It should be an ignored version by now.
But people such as yourself keep proveing that thought wrong!

Hi Privateer,

For me a classic never get old, i remember the first time i start SH3 and my jaw drop on the floor! First time i got sea sickness in my life was in the rough Atlantik by a stormy day.

The moment i enjoy the most is when i put my favorite selection of song from ww2 Germany on the gramophone and going for the hunt.

This game is more then a game i said in an old post that this game have it own soul, the soul of brave soldiers who died at sea...

In my system of belief it is clear that most of the folks here at subsim are reincarnation of those valorous sailors, when you have a very high interest in one era and specific thing like for us ww2 German submarine, it is because your soul still remember that earlier life and they say soul like minded are always draw back together!

Some may laugh at this but we are more than 2 billions to believe it!
Personally i still make vivid dreams of my past life.

Anyways life is stranger than fiction some time

OK enough of my spiritual beliefs

Back to something more serious do you have any clue about how the SH3 engine process the smooth groups cause i realise last night testing the boat at different hours of the day, that the conning tower had ugly shadows related to face smoothing i try detaching it reattaching, clear all smooth, reapply another one but no success.

If i can't find a fix i will have to redo the ext conning tower

Best regards Hans
