We can assume from the poster of this video that the video takes place in Detroit.

In virtually the entire city of Detroit, this behavior is wildly celebrated and greeted with much fanfare and approval.

Apparently the gentlemen in the purple underwear (Lets call him Rambo) is "talking trash" to a gentleman who we can safely assume does not appear on camera.

Rambo appears to be in quite an agitated state insisting that he "dont play no games". This means that he takes everything (except a proper education) seriously and does not have any time for making jokes or behaving jovially.

Rambo tells his adversary where he lives, and claims that he "plays with big guns" simply implying that he has a large amount of personal protection and weaponry for the supposedly upcoming duel.

This area of the video is followed by several seconds of indiscernible nonsense about numerous African American individuals and one person or place known as "Duffy".

It is one hypothesis that this particular "Rambo" individual is in fact named or nicknamed "Duffy" and he is attempting to intimidate his rival by naming off all of the areas of town in which he is well known or has friends or some sort of social support structure.

The rant is temporarily interrupted by some brotherly "bromosexuality".

"Rambo" proceeds to suggest that he is some sort of rap artist and/or software pirate (probably rap artist) as he reports that he is nearing the release date of a CD.

For a moment longer he reverts to his discussion about "Duffy".

For some reason he deems it appropriate to repeat his tirade in the bed of a pickup truck ending his speech with the traditional African American homage to the police force "F the police".

My conclusion is that this is a political campaign video for the office of Mayor of Detroit, Michigan.

I do sympathize with a small segment of black youth in America.

There is a large segment of black society in America wherein the youth routinely behave this way. They get involved in crime, drugs etc very early in life.

now, here is where my sympathy comes in...

in my life i have known a hand full black kids ranging anywhere from 16 to 20 who are caught in the middle of two societies.

on the one hand, they desire to grow up to be successful in western society, and they know to be taken seriously they must avoid a life of crime, a life of drugs, a life of visible underpants and generally looking, speaking and acting like a goofy dumb ass. They also do not hold endless grudges about some 200 year old error our nation has made... some openly admit a sort of sad appreciation (probably not the right word) for slavery because they have admittedly confessed that if it were not for that action in history, their families would have never had the means to immigrate to the United States in later decades- giving them the very real possibility of being raised in some tribal war wielding AK-47s against other 12 and 13 year old kids.

on the other hand, they are surrounded by peer pressures of individuals - who far outnumber them - who dress like this bozo in the video, and act like the bozo in the video - and talk like him etc. every minute of every day.

being caught up between these two societies surely leads a lot of young blacks down a path from which they can never escape.

the black man is NOT being held down by some white devil in America.

the black man is being held down by himself.

lets just say when you grow up in a school system and attend a high school that is about 52% black, and of those 52%... about 90% of them acted just like that guy in the video... you learn quickly.

honestly, im sad to admit... but there were times in my school age life during which i felt like a camera man for animal planet... not being racist or mean... just being dead serious. it was like Lord of the Flies - these people literally behaved like Animals most of the time

really don't know how else to put it

I can probably recall about a dozen times when students literally ran off campus en masse due to a series of fights which had grown into school wide rioting... it didnt matter who you were, or if you were in a gang or not... if you were in the wrong place at the wrong time it meant your ass.

it was like going to school in a prison, there was this acrid and choking tension everywhere in the air and all you wanted to do was get your ass to the relative safety of your algebra class... and even then there were no guarantees.

That was quite a culture shock for me coming out of a Catholic Middle School (Im Methodist) where the student population was about 85% White, 10% Black and 5% Hispanic... there were never problems of any kind. I can recall maybe one fight between two young men. Everyone more or less got along, everyone more or less had the same values and had a strong drive to succeed and was pretty level headed. I dont attribute the lack of problems to the percentages of races in the school... because it didnt matter if you were black or white or hispanic. Everyone came to school and did their work and spoke fluent non-street english and didnt have some gang agenda to push on everyone. I attribute it solely to the quality of the individuals who made up the student body.

there are winners in life and there are losers and im afraid thats all there is to it. and when someone wears their pants around their thighs and let their underwear hang out and wear gold necklaces larger than a car hub cap... well i think it is obvious what category they fit into.

its a sad reality here in the U.S. for some of those kids like that.

but if they are "street"... and they want to be off the street and drive a Porsche and have a high paying job and get out of the ghetto - they are the only people who can do it... they HAVE to do this themselves, nobody can take them out of that environment and do it for them.
