Sorry mate, I've been out most of the day but it will DEFINITELY BE TOMORROW.

There's even a mock up of a U-boat interior....not the most detailed example but the sounds were great

I never really fancied it even though both my kids went as youngsters and assured me I'd like it.

I'm glad I did now

Isn't it just a lovely missile. And I can even imitate it's sound....after having plenty of beans for dinner.

Well, I still don't see any military sense in all of our V-weapons but they were some awesome developments... if they had been used for productive and not destructive things.

LOL

The technology in those days was quite impressive but a little late in the day to change the course of the war.

#3 Updated with the Human Torpedo pictures.

I don't think the V-weapons would have made any difference either if they had been fielded earlier. As I said, I don't see any military value in them, they can only cause terror and nothing else. They were way to inaccurate to be launched against military targets and quite some of them did not even hit the cities they were launched against. A real waste of scarce resources IMHO.

Nice torpedo pictures btw.
I think it must be a blast to ride one of those....in peacetime and just for fun.

Actually, by the end of the war measures were invented that greatly increased the accuracy of the V-2 with ground-based radio guidence, but these systems were not used extensively. Had these systems been used earlier and in much larger numbers, it could have turned out to be an effective weapon, especially for striking known positions of Allied supply dumps and harbours.

EDIT: Though I don't think they could have changed the course of the war much.

One of the camp huts was devoted to models donated by enthusiasts.

Be advised....I am not a professional photographer

I'm stealing some of these pics for my virtual museum, Jim. Don't try to stop me, and nobody has to get hurt. Don't be a hero.

No problem James....there's still another 31 to come but they may have to wait until I get back from the Lake District.

Yeah, I copy pics from subsimmers, museum websites, friends, and anywhere else I can get them for my personal comprehensive worldwide virtual military museum. It's just a bunch of pics classified by location that I can peruse when I can't visit the actual museums/battlefields/memorials myself. Not as good as the real experience of course, but it saves film, time, and money.

Por ejemplo, I have about 500 pics from the Kubinka museum in Moscow. Never been there myself, probably won't ever get there, but I've seen most of it now, anyway.

Well alright then. I'll be back for those, but easy on the flash next time please. Most of those model pics didn't make the cut.

Thanks for the additions, though.

I know what a virtual museum is, but I didn't know you made/were making one. That's cool! Would love to see it.
