the best tactic is easy : always doing something unexpected.
The problem come when your ennemy start to know that

When i know there is a hostile submarine out there but cant localize on him(Had track but he went silent) i like to provoke him by going flank in general direction with at elast 2 tubes ready to snapshot. He will most likely fire on me after a few minutes. when he does its all over for him! I snap back at him drop CM's and go evasive when ive cleared the initial datum i drop another cm to be sure head off in a new direction that will put me out of acquisition cones for both possible intercepts and go silent.

Its a gutsy tactic i know but my evasion game is top notch ask anyone who has dived with me it hasnt failed us yet.

I guess if theres a tactic that seems to work, its called The Corral. Its good trick against nuke subs.

I fire two fish, one set for active, one for passive. I steer them in such a way as to drive the the set to go active toward the enemy sub's flank, and the one set for passive ahead of him. invariably, he hits the gas trying to dodge the active fish and hopefully drives right towards my passive one.

I suppose you could also use this one in the seahawk. drop one active fish, race ahead of his evasion path and drop a passive one. could work.

Try that crap in a manual TMA against me. Please. (Heck go ahead an try in an aTMA match, its still no worse than even odds...) :|\

hmm considering i dont ever play with auto anything on id reckon i have tried it with manual tma. If youd really like to see id be more then happy to demonstrate to you any time. as for it being crap i successfully dodged 3 torps last night in a MANUAL TMA sub v sub match.

So remember the old addage dont knock it till youve tried it.

Besides i think the topic of this forum is your tactics... Not try to feel special by downing other peoples tactics.

I'm sorry, I didn't think you were taking that particular tactic seriously, more like as a gimmick that happens to work against suckers on occasion. All I'm saying is I'm no sucker. :|\ Intentionally revealing yourself to the enemy is usually not something smiled upon...

I will give you this much though...by running at flank like that you will definitely have plenty of opportunities to practice torpedo evasion, so I have no doubt that you're good at it by now!

ill accept that might have jumped off to soon myself... Been a bad day. but any way yes its a last ditch tactic usually only used when the match has been going to long and im getting tired.lol but it does work more times then not.

and it has made me ver good at evasion

Not my best tactic but one that i used a few night a go againt ENS McFester in a Seawolves Dive.
I fired 1 slow passive at 30kts and kept it deep so it didnt cavitate and so was quieter. Steered it round some terrain so i wasnt giving my position away. I then got the passive between my UUV and enemy sub. The sub was sitting at 3kts and he said afterwards he was sure it was passive till he heard it pinging. But as u all know passives dont ping :P I had turned on my UUV active sonar for a few pings. Not to long though or he would get TMA on it. This made him turn and run. He went to 35kts and my torp when activated whent to 35kts to. So it wasnt catching him. But since he didnt hear anymore pinging after a while he guessed he has lost the torp and slowed to 15kts. 30s later BOOOOOM. Didnt know what hit him :rotfl:
The ENS is still learning and a experienced player wouldnt fall for this but still it was fun

That's pretty clever...it might work on just about anyone who wasn't expecting it...not just noobs.
