Default Kpt. Lehmann's Tribute Mod

Finally! My first mod! It sure took quite a bit more work and much more TIME than I expected.

My intent: To model as accurately as possible with the information I had at hand, the actual crewmen of selected U-Boats. This was done as closely as possible within the confines of the Silent Hunter III game files. Instruction is also offered on how the player can change his or her U-Boat number to match the appropriate crew.

My wish: To honor the lives of brave men, allied and axis, who fought and died unseen beneath the waves during World War II. Of all the crewmen modelled here... only one survived.

My hope: That it never happens again.

Download link below. Let me know what you think.

Nice mod Kpt. Lehmann
Wouldn't this mod be very nice to implement in SH 3 Commander?

I forgot to add in the Readme... just as in SH3 regular carreers, your crew is assigned randomly.

As stated in the readme, to assign your crew the correct U-number, just cross-reference your watch officer with the readme and follow directions there. It is very easy to do.

That sounds great Rulle34. I have DL'd SH3 Commander and fully intend to use it on my PC... I just haven't gotten around to it yet. So much has been going on here lately.

Therefore I don't know a whole lot about it right now. I'm not sure how to mix the two mods. I am guessing, but apparently if mixed with SH3 you may be able to choose which crew to use, and change your U-Boat number to match. I know it can be done though.

By the way, this mod should not create any conflicts with RUb and does not affect crew fatigue.

My mod is intended to model nine different crews in their entirety on their respective boats.

Type IIB- U-12,
Type IID- U-144, U-147

Type VIIB- U-83,
Type VIIC- U-89, U-767

Type IXC- U-65, U-166, U-869*

*featured on the history channel... rumor has it a movie about this boat is in the works.

There has been much work done for the "famous" crews, aces, and tonnage kings. My focus is intended to represent those who where not so famous or successful... The "Average-Joes" who worked just as hard as any other... and just weren't lucky.

This mod is really a great mod! I think it is cool to finally be able to have authentic crew members. I've been hoping for something like this for a while. This is a real plus for the history buffs who want to have a real accurate career. Now that we have the names, how about faces to go with the names? Don't panic - just kidding! :rotfl:

Kpt. Lehmann,

Nice!

It will be interesting to use this approach match "real life" crews and experience to the different scenarios (e.g., U-505 vs. Guadalcanal, U-96 vs. Gibraltar, etc.) as a scenario variation.

Sheesh!... just switched off "Panic-Mode." (Lol Kryten in Red Dwarf)

Thanks guys

The scenario idea is cool!!!

I need to sail a bit before cranking out more crews. I've been patching the game so much I haven't spent any real time at sea for about three weeks now.... and I'm a 1x compression man!

Feel free to list requests for crews here though... I will put them on the list and check their feasability.

Also, if anyone runs into any problems, please let me know so I can fix them.

I'm glad you guys like it though. I have to say I was worried that I had spent hours and ages building a big ole FLOP.

Martes!!! Thank you for the award... I would like to thank my Golden Retriever boy "Bailey" and my Black Labrador Retriever girl "Maus" who supported my efforts in spite of much displeasure
caused by a temporary reduction in attention paid to them by me.
