Cameron's U.S. Visit Overshadowed by BP, Lockerbie Outrage

Story,
British Prime Minister David Cameron had hoped to use his first White House visit to build his relationship with President Obama. Instead, he's being forced to discuss BP's alleged involvement in the British government's decision to free the Lockerbie bomber.

It was far better for Britain (and America) that he was released on health grounds than to go on with either allowing the appeal or further blocking the appeal.
It wasn't good for justice, but overall it was in their national interests.

Why is Obama coming down on Cameron about the decision to free the Lockerbie bomber, Obama should ask Blair and Brown as this was done under the last labour government.

This is the second time recently he has been publicly oppressive toward a British National.

H eobviously doesn't feel the need for any close allies these days, especially when you witness how weak he behaves when confronted by potential enemies

There was no health reason, however. It was made up.

What, he is an old guy and has a slightly elevated PSA or something, then gets reported as "terminal?" Guess what, we're all just as terminal as that POS is. My wife (a urologist) laughed when his terminal condition was first reported since with the few details, it seemed implausible to her (a short timeframe would have required really bad, metastatic disease, and anything longer than that would be an odd prognosis)

Someone should put a JDAM through his roof, frankly.

or put him on a air plane that rips apart in mid flight so he can see what it was like to the people he killed

If in doubt, blame BP, that seems to be the current line across the pond at the moment.
Oh well, I guess that just leaves us with Europe.

I wonder what kind of souviner the bamster will give Cameron? An MP3 player with obama's greatest speeches? I'm surprised he had time to meet with Cameron, given he is on vacation or golfing every other minute of the day.

I am no 'Obama man', and I certainly think that we are being needlessly abrasive with our saunchest allies but in fairness, Bush 43 was on vacation all the time too.

Actually to be fair on Brown, it wasn't anything to do with him, it was that "self serving, slimey, really a communist but likes champagne and looks like shrek" Alex Salmond who ultimately was responsible.

Cameron now has taken over from Brown and Blair, so now it is his heritage. Like Obama is being made responsible for faults and failures casued by Bush'S adminustration.

BP must be dealt with in an exemplary way - to teach other companies that if they mess up security for short termed profit hopes and savings, the same fate like BP is possibly facing (getting destroyed over the finajcial costs of this disaster) is waiting for them. Of course, the politically unlegitimised massive lobbying of the oil lobby, that way interfering with legislation and law making at the cost of the community, also must be cracked down on. The way lobbyism these days erodes poltical legitmiation by voters, policy making and legislation, compares to what bone cancer is for an organism - you cannot see it, but it kills the organism from it's very inner core.
