Sorry have written on the Cold War but only the political perspective...though I am interested in the military side just never did serious research into that. If I hear of someone I'll point him here.

http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/index.html Suggest doing a web search on specific weapons systems and regional history or specific conflicts, I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Back in the old days before the internet, we had the local library or the odd copy of the AF Almanac (with the always interesting Soviet Aerospace Almanac), Naval Institutue Press's "Proceedings", Janes, and Aviation Week and Space Technology (not to mention those great Salamander weapons books). mainly submarine tradeing information to and from each other personal basis
its mainly written information i know alabout fas ect ect but any personal information on submarines for example a certain document i might not have on say the victor class some thing like that
