I travel around the grid area during the night and lie submerged, listening, during the day.

I go to that point periodically throughout the war but especially if I happen to be passing in the vicinity enroute to another area.

Different people have different techniques. Personally early in the war (1939-40 and 1941-42 in the US Coast) I tend to spend most of the time in the surface diving periodically to check for contacts. That gives me a lot of maneuverability and I can cover large areas. During this period I do almost all my attacks (even on convoys) while being on the surface.

As the war progresses I tend to travel on the surface and dive every 2-3 hours to avoid detection by planes. While submerged I continue on my search pattern in order to cover as much distance as possible.

Late in the war (Late 1943 until the end) I tend to spend as much time submerged as possible. I get on the surface only at night and only to recharge the batteries.

scenario,of course, people use different stand to gain,I accordingly whit my rules to go down and long-term listen.So my limitation not stop me,flexible in every kind of situation are to prefer,......THX for your wide-ranging support....

Default Hunting grounds

One good spot is NE of the Shetland Islands between 1939 and mid 1940. On patrol during this period I garnered 45,000 tons of shipping in 9 days.

Type VII, VIIB: AM53, BF13
Type IX, IXB: AM19, CG95

Later war:
Type VIIB, VIIC: AM19
Type IXB, IXC: BC43 (preferred), BC68 (when neccesary)
