Default Multiple instal Windows 7 problem

Having previously had no problems using the regedit method under XP, I have hit a stonewall under Windows 7.
LWAMI 3.10 is up and running smoothly on Windows 7 Home. I just planned to do a dual instal of RA for some testing.

Using 'administrator' role with full permissions when 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE' then 'Software' are opened sonalysts does not appear.
The game folder * is installed under "C:\Program Files (x86)\Sonalysts Combat Simulations\Dangerous Waters. I note also no similar
files installed under the alternative (plain) Programme Files folder appear either.

There is probably something obvious that I have missed but please dont hesitate to embarrass me by pointing it out -
I will greatly appreciate any help through this problem.

Bellman, I don't know about the precise details of your problem, but every single website advice about installing games/sims on Win7 is to NEVER install in the 'program' menu as Win7 write protects any files there. Create a new folder on your C: drive and direct the install to there. I have had no problems running any game on Win7 following this advice.

Default Dual Instal

OK an instal of RA in C:\Games runs but no access can be gained to regedit to set up a dual instal. So now I've got LWAMI 3.10 installed under C:\Program Files (x86)\Sonalysts Combat Simulations\Dangerous Waters and the above so no matter which focused shortcut I use I always get RA ! If anyone has a dual instal under Windows 7, I'd appreciate some advice on how it was done.

I have Windows 7 (Ultimate) 64bit. I found some DW keys (that seem to contain the desired settings... I can't remember exactly what they looked like in XP) under:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432\Sonalysts Combat Simulations\Dangerous Waters.

Do know that Win7 also protects the registry similarly as the Program Files folders. You also need administrator rights to add/modify keys. Or you might find that they are not added at all, or won't stick after reboots/re-logon.

DISCLAIMER: I haven't done a dual install yet, so I don't know if this works. Just trying to help you locate those keys.

That's a security control issue. Go to control panel .
" Control Panel\User Accounts and Family Safety\User Accounts " Slide the control down and your good to go. You than will be able to save and change what ever you want. I wish they [win7] diodn't have that type of security. I know alot of people will have the same problem wich is just a dumb security issue.

Default don't reinstall...!! lol

..........I did ! But...(Edit- On checking the 'slider' had been in the down position throughout from the start of the 'problems' )

I reinstalled both programmes from scratch using the Pisces method via Wow6432 and the regedit export - and yep the dual instal worked a treat.

But hey, I'm sorted..... so a big thanks to you all for for your contributions which were greatly appreciated.
