![]() The passion for football in the north east and especially Newcastle is second to none in the UK. Starved of success and trophies since 1969 doesn't dent the fact most teams in the UK look upon Toon attendance figures with envy. Despite the fact Newcastle were playing in the second highest division last season (having just been relegated from the premiership) we still had the 4th highest average attendance in the country. Millwall average attendance last season 10834 (less than 25% of Newcastle). I've only ever experienced two opponents causing 'riots' in the city....Chelsea and Glasgow Rangers, and that was many years back. Soon sent em packing ![]() |
