I would like to add new countries such as China, Japan, Turkey, with associated cities into my sh3 custom campaign.
How can this be done? How do I tell the program the position of the city/country? Any help is appreciated.

Well there are Japanese ships, so I may just copy bases and such from another country into the Japan folder. Then appoximate the location of major harbors and place the bases there.
For China, I may try making a China folder, copying some merchant ships and bases into it, and then making an entry in the defsides.cfg file.

I'm sure alot have read Iron Coffins, Torpedo Junction and, many other books that talk about Harbors and areas not in game.
Let me dig out the Names and will edit this post. |

Havent delved into this quite yet but there are image files associated with the harbors for cities. I would copy one that is oriented the same as the port you want to add and rename it to the city you want to add. Will post the specifics when I can.

We do need a good in depth tutorial on modifying campaigns. There were several around at one time that dealt with creating new missions but I have never seen one dealing with modifying campaigns.
I used to be able to add ports and scripted ships and so forth but that was long ago when SHIII was new. I have absolutley forgotten all I ever knew about doing this and wouldn't dare try it now without some sort of guide. ![]()

I think you have to add them in te locations.cfg
both ports and city`s . BBW have made a something how to do that. Greetz, Dutchie-one ![]() |

If you want to add ships to the new nationalities (ie Roster), then to avoid CTDs you'll also need to add flags to the two Flags.dat files.
And don't forget aircraft markings to the Markings folder (for planes). |
