[REL] Agents Report for SHIV
Additional Radio messages for Silent Hunter IV.
About 495 historical Japanese WWII Convoy reports. Most include the desposition and destination, other details will vary due to available information from source. Such as suspected course manipulated from details of sinking & sighting details, some Maru tonnage details when available, also port of call. This is infrequent so I included the "Destination' info which often included multiple ports as these convoys where known to call on more then one island port. Enjoy! http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...o=file&id=1868 Note: this is NOT a jsgme mod. It is a text mod you can simply paste into your SHIV messages file. It will work with any version of SHIV, and in addition to extra_messages. Read me includes instructions on how to change the "Agents Report" header if you want to do that. Thanks goes out to Sailor Steve for getting the source files to me. |

I'm wondering, will this overwrite the messages in TMO or add to what's already there?

These messages like extra messages are ment to add to your existing messages file. Not to replace.

Anything that adds to the immersion factor is always appreciated. Thanks!

Hi,
I am rediscovering some old mods and it crossed my mind to ask if those convoy reports are real ingame or there are just radio messages? ![]() |

I'm pretty sure these messages are for immersion quality only. If you use the RSRD Mod, the contact reports do pertain to in game ship movements and times. Even still, these are "historic" reports, and that alone is good enough for me to add them to the game

I see, thanks for the reply! It would have been really awesome to actually have those convoys from the messages in the game

Now this may be just a fluke, but I just started a new campaign in July'43. I'm using RFB with RSRD. I must admit, I only recently installed "Agent's Reports", so this is actually my first patrol with it. The first two messages I received were from the Agents. One of the messages mentioned a convoy and troops heading to New Guinea. Maybe two "game days" later, I receive flash traffic (from the RSRD mod) of a convoy expected to be North of Wewak in two days time. Like I said, this may be a fluke, but on the other hand, RSRD does model historic ship movements. The fact that the Agents Reports are historic convoy reports, and RSRD models historic shipping, tells me that the two may be related to some degree. I'll have to see if a pattern emerges. This could get very interesting
