Default [wip] Periscope heads

Ok stop me if this has been done but the fact that the periscope heads stick out of the protective housings is driving me bonkers, So I figure it is a good a thing as any to make an attempt at doing a mod. Now I am starting with nearly no experience so I am gonna need some pointers and tips from folks who have more than I do. my plan is to just adjust how far the 3d object moves down in the Y axis but I am starting from zero without any knowledge of how things work in SH5 has any one been able to make changes to the 3d models or to the animations? I would rather just make them move that little bit lower than try to shorten them but depending on how they are built either might work. ( trying to avoid a gap of nothing at full extension). so looking for tips and advise on where to start. ( that means you Dark Wraith) or any one else that has some info on how to go about it. Thanks for reading look forward to hearing from ya all.

To prevent it from sticking out the bottom of the boat, I recommend that you research the correct size of the parascopes, to insure that it is the correct size, then make the needed changes. As I think, that the scopes are a tad to large.

Correct me if I am wrong.

Otherwise, its just a matter of ajusting the z values for extended and desented, to something that works.

Alternatively, you could ajust the housing to be larger, or ensure that these are the proper housings(could be different then that deplicted.)

Not sure where I got this from: But may be of Interest.

Controls. (See Sketch 15029.)
20. The moving parts are all controlled from the eyepiece position. They are indicated diagrammatically on Drawing 15029.
Focus adjustment by rotating eyepiece "A."
Elevation and depression by moving the lever "B."
Raising and lowering the periscope by means of the lever "C."
A dial "C" indicates the position of the elevation, extremes on the dial being 9.3 and 14.6 metres.
A separate handle is provided apart from the periscope for raising and lowering the periscope is desired.
Bearing scale situated at "F." Bearing is also indicated on dials "E," where an adjustment is provided so that the dials can be set at any desired constant difference from the true bearing.
Change of magnification controlled by the lever "G."
Colour glasses inserted by the lever "H."
The periscope does not embody a range estimator.

an obj_extensible controller (don't quote me as I'm going from memory as I'm out on jobsite and thus don't have access to my home computer) is used to control the periscopes movement. I would start with adjusting the values of that controller before attempting anything else

well two posts sticking out the bottom of the sub would be less than ideal but in my personal case I would never notice, ( I don't use external views) but If I were ever to get the mod to a release point yes I would watch out for that particular problem. thanks reaper for the real life max height values. Thanks for the Foot hold of where to start looking Wraith may it be so easy as just a value adjustment ( crossing fingers).
