The patch is so heavy and must be delivered to the Ubisoft headquarter in Paris for final testing by air cargo, but everyone know, the european air space is limited these days

Agreed! I bet they haven't done anything to fix the game. There's just no funds for them to fix something for free that few people find to be an enjoyable game. The game was a flop from day 1 and UBI has other "high priority" games that it's focusing on. Silent Hunter 5 is not a priority at all. I won't be surprised if the patch is just canceled flat out.

Default Its Official No Patch Anytime Soon !!!

Posted Tue April 20 2010 07:24 Tue April 20 2010 07:24 Hide Post It's official, it's not coming out anytime soon:

Ubi's statement of no patch release

The "no longer being released" is a mistranslation of "not being released as promised, no ETA" (paraphrased).

Might as well just close this thread and surprise us if it ever comes out... this is just getting dumb.

As for my opinion and my stance on telling people what they should or shouldn't do... Too bad. I'm still going to voice my opinion on what everyone SHOULD do.

Stop the bitchin' and get some reality in those heads folks. This game is broken with major issues. A patch being delayed a week or a month will only clean the surface issues at best.

The awesome modders, however, are totally in-tune on the situation and will ultimately save this game, NOT a patch from ubisoft. Ever go over to the SH5 mod section? Its amazing (and refreshing) the lack of complaining. As opposed to the main forum where every other thread is...

But we installed the engine mounts, electrical, and fuel system for a V-12... and we know all you talented car buffs will be able to build it like we intended.

Oh and occasionally the transmission will go in reverse and crash you into a wall or other drivers. But we left the software open for modders to fix the bug that causes that..so that shouldnt be an issue.

And one more thing.... instead of a stearing wheel we welded on a metal disc to interface with. Yes yes....we know you dont like the way it looks...but hey...It works right. We made it so its easily removed and you can put on a new steering wheel with leather circumference that fits the car better.

Once the car modders get done....watch out Ferrari...we have one hot car to sell.

Wait.... why isnt anyone buying our car? Must be a niche market for this car...lets go make more console games.

I crack myself up.

OK.. so I understand the rules some of you are playing by.

Ubisoft doesn' communicate: BAD UBISOFT

Ubisoft tries, in good faith, to communicate: BAD UBISOFT

Ubisoft releases software before it is ready: BAD UBISOFT

Ubisoft doesn't release software before it is ready: BAD UBISOFT

Have I pretty much got that right?

I didnt buy sh5 after reading all the reports before release day and i have to say its funny (yet sad at the same time) hearing everyone complain about how much of a bugfest it actually is. Everyone knew it was going to be a turd yet everyone closed their eyes like they were difusing a bomb by making a decision on the red or blue wire, hoping the game would be fine once they cracked the box open, when in fact it blew up in their face.

Someone mentioned we shouldnt pay for half finished games but this is how the gaming world seems to work when it comes to pc's and shouldnt be a suprise to anyone anymore... But buy a console game off the shelf and they work as advertised... It does make it hard to understand why they cant release a pc product that works as touted...

I just dont know why you guys are all suprised and worked up on this when we all knew the condition of the game... you purchased it, so you have to deal with the slowwww fixes, if any. I really really wanted a new sh sim but based on the bugs and the drm issue i just flat refused to buy and now im glad after reading so many threads on how bad it actually is....glad i still have 3,4sh to tinker with.
I wish you all the best and hope modders come to the rescue .... i'll join you guys sometime if when things ever get sorted....

Oh fer cryin" out loud... you don't! Enough with the hyperbole.

Lots of people (me included) are playing it just fine as it is. There is absolutely no reason you can't.

In fact I am rather pleased as I have a very nice convoy in my sights and I would hate to lose it at this point.
