Since they delayed the patch and UBI never communicates with us i was wondering what you think made the patch be delayed? More bug fixes? Adding missing stuff? Or just some stupid thing such as another language thing?

If UBI built a Sports car:
Here is your NEW SPORTS CAR. Sure looks Pretty dont it! ![]() Oh we didnt have budget or schedule to finish the engine, so we installed 2 cycle mower engine that has a top speed of 20 mph. But we installed the engine mounts, electrical, and fuel system for a V-12... and we know all you talented car buffs will be able to build it like we intended. Oh and occasionally the transmission will go in reverse and crash you into a wall or other drivers. But we left the software open for modders to fix the bug that causes that..so that shouldnt be an issue. And one more thing.... instead of a stearing wheel we welded on a metal disc to interface with. Yes yes....we know you dont like the way it looks...but hey...It works right. We made it so its easily removed and you can put on a new steering wheel with leather circumference that fits the car better. Once the car modders get done....watch out Ferrari...we have one hot car to sell. Wait.... why isnt anyone buying our car? Must be a niche market for this car...lets go make more console games. ![]() ![]() |

All My Mods still work for another week!!!!
![]() How's the song go? "Always look on the bright...side of life." They'll release the patch when it's ready. SH5 is playable as is. Just not polished is all. The polish will come in time... Also, it's worth considering that this patch is probably not going to turn SH5 into a shining example of perfection either. It's not the end of the world, and I can wait to have all my mods broken. I like my mods. Everyone's done a great job. Cheers guys, and Happy 4/20.

Do yourselves a favor folks. Go out and buy a PS3 or Xbox 360 and start buying those games. They are made much better than PC games and that's where the developers and production company's focus is these days. The PC market is dead pretty much. Very few companies develop "for PC only" games anymore and most of those games are lame pixel hunt/point and click games.
I hate consoles as much as the next PC guy does, but after today, I have to be honest with myself and realize that what I want doesn't matter... It's what the rest of the world wants - and that's consoles unfortunately. So, today I'm going to go out and buy a PS3 and get my game entertainment high off on that. At least I know the games on it work and the DRM on them is light if non-existent since those types of games are next to impossible for pirates to steal. I am not looking forward to mashing buttons and using button combos to pull off simple features that one button on a keyboard could do, but I will be able to breath easy knowing that my game will work and be considered a high priority game to the company that makes it. It's apparent to me that Silent Hunter 5 has been put on the back-burner at UBISoft because they have other "high priority" games they are working/focusing on. Most of them are console games. Time to face reality folks. Would you rather play console games on the PC where they feel sloppy and broken or on the actual console the games are developed for? I've noticed in recent years that most of the games I buy on the PC really suck. They feel sloppy, rushed, and feel like they'd be better played on a console. That's because they were developed for the console! The reviews for those games on the PC are horrible, but on the console they are rated high. |

Well, this is only going to stir up endless speculation and there's probably no way of knowing (short of Dan shining the godly light of Ubi knowledge upon us, which is probably unlikely), but I'm praying they're taking the time to fix the stadimeter.
![]() Can you imagine how great it would be to use that thing?

could be many reasons, software is complex. A fix they put in may not work as expected, may create other bugs, beta testers may have seen a last minute issue, it may have taken more time than expected to code various fixes, etc.
since it appears to have popped up at the last minute, I am leaning more to a bug fix not working as expected or beta testers seeing a new unexpected side effect. I worked as a beta tester before and you would be amazed how many issues are only spotted at the last minute, even with the best of intentions.
