So I'm setting up an attack on a freighter I just came across, and I'm using an attack wheel made from Hitman's template. I'm using GWX 3.0, and for some reason I'm having trouble keeping a "lock" on the freighter. I don't know if this is due to rough seas, or if this is a feature built into GWX.
Long story short, I took a reading off my obs. periscope of approximately 2.5 degrees, but I then realized that the scale did not change when I zoomed out. The reading was then less than 1 degree. (The markings on the side are in degrees right?). I then did the same with the attack periscope, for a far different reading of 3.5 degrees, and less than 1. So, what's the deal? How do I use my zoomed in reading for manual range finding? |

Hmm, not sure why you get varying readings at different zoom levels.
I know my attack scope works just fine at 1.5x-6x-15x, I rarely if ever use the observation scope unless the attack scope is damaged but I bet it's OK too. Are you using any UI modifications? If not, try one and see if that fixes it. I suggest something like MaGUI. It has its quirks, like auto-closing tubes when you select one from a certain view (UZO I think).. But the optics are accurate and if I stay away from the UZO tube selector switches, mine seem to stay open. Also, you can actually pan around with the scope while the game is paused. I like that, but many would call it cheating ![]() Actually I believe the tube thing is a stock SH3 bug, and I use the TDC selector switches to get around it. Some mods fix it, some don't but I always do switching on the TDC out of habit. |

The only mod I have is GWX3.
I think the problem is the degree scale doesn't change when zoomed in. So how do you compensate/calculate off of this? Hitman was asking about it waaay back in 07 Quote:
