81% ... why not.

I would give SH5 a 80% score as it this right now ...

...keeping in mind that the missing 20% will hopefully come with patches and mods.

I would have to agree.

I would have to give it a 50% seeing how it was half finished.

I try not to think about how the game was OTB anymore. It's sad to think there are people who buy it and have no idea that this forum and modding community exists.
OTB: 50
But the future looks bright.

Isnt it about time people stopped reading (and indeed writing reviews) and just bought the damn game (or not), its been out for ages, if you havent made up your mind by now there is something wrong.

If you haven't made up your mind by now, you clearly don't love subsim games.

Yes, especially when the game, if you live in the UK at least, is now less than half the price it should be.

Default Other reviews

From the beginning, I have to tell you that I have the game (as a gift from my brother) but I can't play it because of my old PC. My brother must buy for me a good PC too .
But ... because I am from Romania and I am interested in many things "made in Romania", I read lots of reviews about this game. There are good reviews too. I wonder you are surprised:
http://www.game-debate.com/articles/...ilent+Hunter+5
http://www.3djuegos.com/juegos/anali...lent-hunter-5/
These are just two examples.
My very personal point of view, is that all judgments made about this game started with "0 tolerance" for the project itself, because of that DRM.
I am a user of industrial software applications (elaborate mods for our own plants) and I can be sure that PERFECT SOFTWARE APPLICATIONS DOESN'T EXIST. They are always not enough tested and they never fulfill all wishes or all needs.
Best wishes to all of you, and ... enjoy the game!
I have to wait a few months.

Ah yes, but who was asking for perfect software? I think what most of us wanted was a good subsim, or the very least a finished game. Alas...
and Welcome aboard matey

I think the people (here at least) like to read the reviews to see how other opinions compare to theirs. I know I like to have my opinions on things I love - or hate - be backed up.

Why? Do you know of one?

Sorry, couldn't resist the jab. I do love subsims. But seriously, what of those who have made up their mind the 'wrong' way? Do they not love subsims?

Not everything rises to the standard of a submarine simulation... Or would you expect a food-lover would love all kinds of "consumable foods"?

@Steve
No, it's completely possible to love Subsims and not run out like an addict and buy SH5 the way I did.

Please note that I simply meant that if you love subsims, you probably have already made up your mind whether or not you will get SH5. No wrong way...it's all good as long as it's your genuine opinion.

I'm with you too, I'm always interested in hearing other opinions and perspectives on things I enjoy. (Like SH5 reviews)

i bought sh5 a few days ago and find it to be an enjoyable time, despite a few flaws. add in a few mods, its even better. i have come to believe that the majority of the negativity come from those who dont own nor have even played the game and are just butt hurt over the drm so they will say anything. i'm glad i took the path less traveled.

It's true. Some people are swayed by eye candy alone. Meh. Not a biggie.
