SH4 tech specs

is the external views in SH4 more frame-rate friendly or more frame rate harsh?

I've got SH3 which runs really well on my computer except for on external views where I look at the whole sea and sky, my game slows alot.

Recommended:

3 GHz Pentium or AMD Athlon
256 MB DirectX9 video card
2 GB RAM

Minimum specs are half size, but...

Ran SH4 for years on an AMD X2 4800, Nvidia 9800GT, 4 gigs of ram, Win XP Pro, 1920 by 1080 rez on a 22 inch Acer, ran well in the mid 20's except I stayed out of the ports to slow there.

I now run an AMD Phenom II 955, Nvidia 9800GT, 8gigs or ram, Win 7 Pro, same rez, everything maxed out at over 80 fps, no slow downs with cam anywhere.

The hardware does make the difference, the faster the CPU the better the performance and visuals.

I'm running the game with a 3.2 ghz pentium 4, 2 Gigs of Ram, BFG nVidia 8400GS 512 mb Video and Vista home premium and the game runs great for me with all sliders maxed.

The only issue is i get a major graphics slow down at Surabaya. All the other ports are fine, but something about that one brings my frame rates to a crawl. It happens with or without mods and its not related to whatever ships are in port there.

As long as i avoid that port i have no issues and the game runs fine.
