Default Why Bother with Flak Guns

Every time I see a plane I head for the depths below.

So... why am I spending Renown on upgrading Flak Guns? Because I CAN! Heh.

Anyone actually stay up and shoot it out with the planes?

It's too risky in my opinion, though early war they ignore you entirely anyway.

I know others have had more luck, but since learning of the pacifist nature of british pilots, it's now a hobby of mine to shoot at everything that flies over and burn through the ammo. Haven't downed a single one, but have hit a few. It's good for a laugh or two, then you grow weary of it.

I've only been intentionally attacked once - about 327 km due west of Brest, by a Sunderland. My flak gunners got him, but I wouldn't recommend the binocs, find, spacebar-to-lock on anything smaller and faster! On at least some Historical Missions and MP Missions, though, aircraft will pursue you doggedly -- and with intent!

By the way, I just started January, 1942.
