Actually, Hundert, if you spend 1 minute searching ebay you'll find the seller in question and unless he bought at least ten copies, installed the lot and then decided he didn't like the game, it's pretty suspicious, especially when thanks to the wonderful DRM he only needed one copy and could install it everywhere.

Alternatively, if they are new and legit copies, then I want the details of his distributor, because to be able to sell them for as low as US$15.99 (including free shipping in the USA), he's got great connections.

Also humourous is that he's sold three copies today (in addition to the active four copies he has for auction). I wonder if this thread is pushing up business for the seller? How ironic.

So maybe a bit less and a bit more ?

This is a predictable and desirable effect of a lousy DRM. It will breed confusion in the marketplace and further limit the sales of this abyssmal "game." It's really a trojan horse for all kinds of trouble.

Just wait until used copies begin to hit the market and people are really happy they bought a game that can't be played. Ubi will get the flak for that too.

Can't say they haven't earned it! Blub, blub, blub. They need to leave the simulation market. They have no idea what a customer is.

Confusion? The one thing I would never buy from Ebay is a computer game - talk about asking for trouble

Just wait until used copies begin to hit the market and people are really happy they bought a game that can't be played. Ubi will get the flak for that too.

Also - I'd never buy a used game , who knows what else your getting along with the game?

To be honest - if you buy from either of those markets , you get what you deserve IMO. Especially when you look at the price of SHV at the moment

Well I went ahead and bought a 'New, sealed, USA market' game from a U.S. seller on E-bay with 100% feedback for $15.50. Paypal offers a money-back guarantee. So does E-bay. It might be a gamble, but at this price it is worth the risk. I can't justify paying $50 at this time for this game at a retail outlet. Sorry, Ubi.
The real gamble is whether Ubi will patch the game to its potential and finally remove DRM.
I'll let you know if the game is legit when I get it.

Personally, I bought my copy of SH4 from the used market from a local person who bought it and couldn't play it on his machine. I saved a little cash, Ubi wasn't left with a resentful customer and he recouped some of his investment. Everybody, especially Ubi, won.

Got the copy today and it is legit. The game only recognizes 1 1/2 gigs of system memory out of 6 gigs in a windows 7 machine. Any idea on that?

Same with mine, but it runs fine.

Just as a matter of interest I checked everyone advertised on eBay, but none were being advertised as not requiring a permanent internet connection, maybe they have been caught already!
