Hey i know you posted the location of taskforce A but i was wondering if you could give a slightly larger search area as i seem to have a hard time finding the two battleships and its into mid September

The yellow circle area is where that Force H is supposed to spawn. The three little brown squares with X's are the nearest nodes to that area.

Other people have reported finding it just north of the yellow circle, so south of the larger of three islands there along the route.

Note that you DON'T have to accomplish the strategic goals in order to play the game. But if you do accomplish one they might change the campaign on the strategic level.

They are, after all, strategic goals. Accomplish enough of them and it may count as a Victory for your side.

I think the overall idea is quite good. Maybe from what I read the merchant tonnages are a bit high in a few of those tasks ("missions", but that sounds "scripted", so maybe "tasks"?). I assume if you complete all those objectes and sink 3BB and 2CV in the Med AO, that this would change the course of the war in africa?
If so, then the only "mishap" is that players assume that they can really typically achieve that. Of course any real U-Boat commander and Doenitz himself might have dreamed of exactly that outcome. But it just didn't happen.

Maybe you should have communicated in the manual or in game description that the campaign goals are "ultimate", and not as most people think are average minimum achievements. And that on realistic levels one maybe should only be expected to succeed on ~50% of the tasks for a historical outcome, and the you still can happily continue your campaigns!?

How about the 2 aircraft carriers? Thanks a lot!

I've search the aircraft carriers along the Gibraltar <-> Malta supply route for over 6 hours and still not a single aircraft carrier appear. I met several task forces along the route but none of them got a aircraft carrier with them. The only aircraft carrier the game spawn in this campaign so far was in the port of Gibraltar, now I'm looking the other one.

Is the 50k Tonnage for Malta? If so just sail to Malta and sink the merchants in port. Still counts for the tonnage. Sank 3 troop transports and 1 cimmaron tanker and objective completed

The Task Force "A" IS in the ring as the game shows. I stressed that because someone here said it's not there no matter one search for it. I found two battleships, one Elizabeth class and one Royal Sovereign class.
The task force was exactly in the center of it, there I did meet it. I can't found the carriers, it's the only semi-objective I missed so far in this third campaign. Does anyone know where the carriers spawn ? Someone said that it is with task Force H but it;s not so far. Force H had no carriers within.

And odd, after 90% of the campaign done, merchant ships started to appear across mediterana sea.

UPDATE

Giving up to search for carriers I don't know why, but I went to Gibraltar and....there was a ...carrier in the port. I sunk it but suprisingly it didn't count for the mission. I said to myself that maybe you have to bring it down when it is on the move patrolling so I decided to load last save which was made AFTER I sunk the carrier (20 minutes after I think). After I reloaded the save...there was another carrier, Royal Ark, which was on the move with escort, somewhere behind me. I was suprised about that and I manouvered the ship to get out of the port but a destroyer came and made things complicated and I missed the carrier. After escaping I searched for it in front of me at full surface speed but it wasn't there anymore. I didn't discouraged and I reloaded again the save. The Royal Ark carrier was there, again , on the move , with escort, getting out of the harbor. This time I decided to watch it to see what it is doing but...the carrier disappeared, in front of my eyes, (as when an image is fading kindda) with all its escort !!! lloll
Everytime I reloaded the save, the story repeated itself....That one is hard to take, to see the carrier on the move and not beeing able to shoot a single torpedo to it! ...loool
I'll think to something else...meanwhile.
By the way, the date , if it counts for anything, was 6th of may.

UPDATE 2

I manage , somehow , to achieve the objective cheating a little to sink those two carriers. I met one in Gibraltar but that didn't count. After reloading another one appeared, Royal Ark, I sunk it and this time I was right on the money. I reloaded after that and There were two carriers, which, by the way, bumped one into each other in a funny way, the "mixed" carrier formed from those two looked like a modern carrier with two platforms...lol

A few words about A.I..I played SH3 and SH4 , AI was tough there(especially SH3), but in SH5 they are pathetic, I was in Gibraltar harbor chasing and torpedoing the carriers and the ten destroyers from the harbor couldn't get me (I was moving with max speed submerged) and they just made one pass , throw some barrles and they sat doing nothing...What the hell is with these people from UBISOFT ? They made the AI for SH3 and SH4 , too so that was , at least , supposed to work here, right?
I have an idea why the Ai is so dumb. part of the problme is that the game is not finished I think and the other haf, I think there is one idiot there at UBI which thought: "guys ...lets' get more money with this, but we cant' from hard core simmers, because they are a constant number, let's take from casual ones....so let's make the game to ...look like a sim, so any noobie could win the game. Correct me if I'm wrong...:grin

Thats not the *Battle of the Atlantic* a 5 year tonnage tussle primarily against merchant shipping with progresively smarter escorts untill the arrival of the hunter killer groups changing tactics technology upgrades and intellegence code cracking are all part of that formula!

Sorry mate not bashing or flaming you but do you want feed back or not?

He probably did four months ago when he posted that, but it might not be a top concern now.
