One thing that has always kind of spoofed me was the fact that the Akula towed array is harder to discern the ambiguous contact. It is pretty easy to tell on the American platforms - the contact that changes bearing is the ambiguous one. On displays like the Akula, it looks like both contacts move when you turn the submarine. How can you tell which one is the ambiguous contact?
Also, another thing about the Akula displays that have always spoofed me, is faint contacts. On the waterfall displays, I can tell relatively easily a faint contact. On the Akula, one small wavy line looks just like the others. |

Actually they can be easier to discern. The bow array only returns true contacts so you can try matching those against your TA to help you resolve ambigous contacts.
When they're farther away they will both move at the beginning of your turn but the false contact will to a more extreme turn as you commit. |
