Just wondering if anyone knows...But I keep coming back from patrols after sinking 3-4 ships and only get like 100-200 reknown points.
Just wondering if I'm doing something wrong. Running GW3. |

Low renown depends on realism setting.increase realisam then more renown.

You can also edit the .cfg file within the SH3 directory, this then allows you to edit what the game awards you in renown,in my case I have edited the game to award me +200 just for returning to port manually, which apparently was not included in the game.I recently found all this out and it is a very useful tool.
You can also minimize the renown penalty for sinking neutrals (set value figure zero) too, which can be a serious pain at times, but now I have installed a 'lighter flags' mod at night allowing me to engage ships properly at night at close ranges, before the flags were totally blacked out. If the flags mod works to my liking I will then revert the neutral penalty back to -1.

GWX will give you less renown than the default base game.
Can be 40/50 renown per ship. Also, sinking any neutral will cost you a lot of renown (on the desk you can click on papers and see patrol reports and check what you did sink) With GWX you must not forget to identify the nationality of the ship and use the Flag book in periscope view to check status of that country according to the date. |

For information you can download the GWX ship renown values here http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...ghlight=renown . But remember they are based on 100% realism so deductions need to be made if you play at a lower setting.

I don't think GWX3 awards renown for patrol grids.

Right, it removes the renown awarded in the stock game for reaching the assigned grid, and the additional renown for completing the 24 hour patrol there.
WB has a mod that overwrites the basic.cfg file and puts it back in, but if you want it and don't want that file overwritten you can just edit the file manually. IIRC there was also renown awarded in stock for returning all the way to base (I assume this means not teleporting) which was also taken out (?) but I've seen mention of the fact that this renown award never worked anyway (stock bug) so I don't know if putting it back in would be worthwhile. I did, just in case. ![]() |

I have a second question but I'll start a new thread since it's a diff topic. |

I'm pretty sure that the renown for returning to port manually is broken. If that's the case, it doesn't matter what you edit that to.... you'll still get nothing.
