any patch needed before uboat addon ?

after I install silent hunter 4, do I need to install any of its patches, before installing SH4 uboat addon ?

No... all you need is the UBME (1.5) file update which will bring your SH4 up-to-date. Check this forum for other favorite gameplay and graphical mods and addons to make your experiences with SH4 more interesting...

I do believe the U-boat add on brings your SHIV install up to 1.5

It depends on which version disc you have.

Mine was a gift and only up to 1.2

The 1.3 & 1.4 updates are free and easy to find.

Once you are sure you are 1.4 then you can add the 1.5 update which includes the UBoat addon.

Then, install mods.

Wrong. The 1.5 U-boat add-on contains all the previous patches.

The easiest way to be sure is to get a copy of SH4 Gold, which includes the whole thing already patched.
