I imagine he’s rather annoyed that his licence to play there game has been revoked due to unforeseen circumstances or otherwise know as a ball up.

Thats if he bought the game......

Or he posted as he rightly guessed that this would happen with this system in place. Is it justified smugness who can tell.

Not playing SH5 at all (didn't buy it due to DRM). Still on SH4. Anyway, I was just replying to (from this AM)-
"I just called [Ubi] their support, there is a UK phone number listed in the manual. This is what he said..

Their servers have been down since 4pm cet, they believe there has been another hacking attempt, and they are working right now to get the servers up and running again asap. We can't do much more but wait.

I asked if a refund is possible, he said not at the moment because there is nothing wrong with their product. But hackers are trying to destroy their copy protection system, and we all become victims as a result of it.

I asked if Ubisoft will release the game without DRM, he said they don't plan on that right now but they are looking into ways to secure their servers.

Well, didn't help me much, but at least we know whats going on. "

I'll keep my comments to that thread I suppose. Just being smug in that it has happened twice in 2 weeks and tomshardware.com is reporting that the first outtage was probably not a DOS attack (as Ubi publicly stated) but rather Ubi's own server problems. I suppose people know how to use google and can find that story for themselves. As I said, I'll just be smug and quiet for now.

Huh, did you say something?

Had 1 big outage at AC2 release, split into 2 parts. Then 5 minutes yesterday, and 5 minutes today.

Meh.

I'm in the same position ATM bit of spare time and can't play the game This has happened several times now bit of a pain TBH.

I have my eye on another UBI game due for release soon but it's gonna have the same DRM system it's making me think if it's worth buying after shelling out 28ukp for this one that I can't play because of THEIR server issues.

Ringy.

Im sick of arguing with you idiots, my game hasnt failed once, and im not going to convince you otherwise.

Find something else to whine about, you must have a really shallow life if you love arguing about a video game so much. Its like a weeklong rant on super mario brothers and how they have ruined your life.

I've never yet had problems logging or saving the game. So far the OSP part is the best made part of the game FOR ME .

The forced Internet connection bothers me as much as the forced Internet connection of multiplayer games, or for that matter that I have to be hooked up to the electrical grid to play the game...

...ie, not at all. Ironically (and perhaps ominously) enough, my Internet connection failed just as I finished installing the game ( ), but other than that, there's only been a few minor hickups.

I will say this, though. I supported the DRM system mostly because I hoped it'd be a 100% lockout mechanism against pirates, the same way games like WOW don't experience piracy on-line. If I was wrong, and it seems I was, then I retract my support for the DRM system.

Ah, that's nice. More of an attitude I can appreciate.

For the record, I hate this OSP nonsense as much as the next guy. Maybe even more so, because I know from experience what a pain it is.

But this whole 'I am better than thou' thing, just because you didn't buy it, is nonsense. I didn't buy stuff like Spore because it had limited installs, stuck by it too, but I didn't go around going

at people who ran out of installs.

That's not being smug, that's being abnoxious. Trolling, if you will.

He has a good point though. Complaining about the complaints of others is somewhat ridiculous, to say the very least.
