Default BB Sao Paulo Mod Pics V0.1

Hello everybody....I was able to find a good graphic file editor (I'll post the results of my search to that thread), and I've been able to complete make a very rough "teaser" of the Brasilan BB Sao Paulo, version 0.1:

You will notice it is still "Revenge" class, but the specs in the museum are correct

Notice the Brasilian flag and the side "12 inch" turrets!

It's too bad UBI never bothered to model the Graf Spee...I had to use German 14" guns, but would prefer something closer to the 12" that were found on this dreadnaught....however, other than the main turrets, the correct guns were pretty much in SH3...

...Obviously there is A LOT of work that needs to be done.....the windows are all messed up, but I at least attempted the dreadnaught look with lots of them.....

....there was only one tripod mast on these ships......definately have to lop off the rear one and if possible shorten the front one.....also, I need to find where all of the nodes are and adjust the guns accordingly.....he he..let alone the fact that those two large turrets are nearly swallowed up in the ship...oh well

Enjoy..it took me all day, literally!

Looks good.. and yes indeed, you have to know your nodes...

I have a hunch that all masts are node objects... so, it may be possible to null-out a tripod mast...

What the heck are those things sticking out of the side?...

Cordialement, Duke of Earl

I think you should use the 14InchDoubleT from KGV as main guns and the 8InchDoubleT from Hipper as secondary

He he....this class had two turrets that were sunk into and under the supersturcture...they spun in, and was "all the rage" when these were first built in the 1900's and 1910's.....I've got to figure out how to edit the graphics....now the real work begins!

Commander1980....I'll give your suggesitons a look....I wonder why you would prefer the 8InchDoubleT as secondary....do you mean as the guns in the side turrets, or replacing ALL of the 4.7 guns? I also want to see what the ship looks like with all 8InchDoubleT guns....(P.S. I misspoke in my earlier post....I am using the KGV 14inch double)

If ANYBODY finds (as one of those "hidden items".... Beery? ) some of those 11" guns, please let me know! I might even type it in just to see what happens! I'll post pics....

OK, no need for new pics.....using 8" guns as main guns simply won't work.....and they look too small even in the side turrets. So, my first attempt at cloning will be to clone the 14" KGV double and make it a little smaller all around...

Also, tried typing in "12Inch DoubleT"...no luck. They were found on such antiquated ships like the Arkansas (which really should be in this game, since if memory served, she did take part in D-Day bombardment).

My goal is to somehow make some 12" double turrets....

Any suggestions are appreciated!

-Jeff

P.S. Oh yeah almost forgot....any data on draft and mast height would also be appreciated...I don't have that in Janes, and I haven't found it online yet...the figures in the museum are just guesstimates.
