Default Initial renown in GWX ?

Page 115 of the GWX 3.0 manual it says we start carreers with 1500 renown, but I remember starting mine with 500 on my type IIA and it has been quite hard to reach the 2500 renown to get a VIIB.

Is this a change made on purpose and the doc is not up to date ?

As I've stated so mant times in the past....you can simply change the delta renown to any figure of your choosong after your first patrol.

Especially handy for those who prefer not to take part in the training missions.

Sorry to ask this jim in case you have been asked it loads of times before, but can you explain a little bit more about this delta renown?,and how to edit the renown data? I would really like to edit my game at the moment due to last patrol not confirming my last sinking resulting in a renown loss.

Cheers pal

Yuck. It is not fun to do after you've done each 3 times already.
I'd rather skip it and edit the file...

Get into :

C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\SH3\data\cfg\Careers\<captain name>

Edit the Patrols_0.cfg and go at the end. Look for the Delta thing.

I suggest only adding missing renown for returning to port, which is 100 renown each time you did came back to port to dock.

If you cheat your renown and can have anything, what the point ?

As per the above post Paul.

Near the bottom of the CFG you'll see a line called DeltaRenown, change it to whatever figure you require. If it is for returning to port it should be 200 per docking.

ONLY CHANGE THE DELTARENOWN WHILST IN PORT.

Are you also aware of any problems or conflicts when using this feature?

Non whatsoever....in fact the DeltaRenown shortcut was used by some of the Grey Wolves during development work on the GWX versions as a means of quickly installing certain pieces of equipment prior to testing.

FYI, the return to base renown has never worked, not even in stock/vanilla.

GWX gives you the 1500 for completing just the Navigation course.

But you're right - editing is easier.
