It's probably the morale bug. Whenever I load a saved game crew moral resets to zero, preventing special abilities to be useable. There's a morale MOD in the mods forum that fixes this.

Thanks paraB i am going to see that but the problem is that mine EO morale was 3\3.Or it has to do with the overall morale of the crew?

Problem is that the whole morale/abilities system seems heavily bugged at the moment. I have also seen various crew unable to obey an order although their morale was actually way up. Since I installed that mod the abilities at least work. With the JSGME mod enabler you can easily install a mod, try it out, and if you don't like it, remove it again.

Its not just morale on a reload, all experence they gain via the current patrol vanishes too on a reload.

Also note that they ALWAYS refuse when you ask them, but if you get the little world of warcraft icon in the top corner that means they did it anyways. So keep an eye on that as well.

I think that if the morale-abilities system is so bugged the game tents to be unplayable imho and it must be patched immediately. And the bad thing is that these are not the only problems.

Could be wrong but I don't think its anything to do with Moral , more to do Abilities , you have to use Promotion points to increase there Abilities to do there jobs.

To run silently you can't be on the surface

You need to go to your locker and get your sidearm.

Maybe they just have a really good game of dominoes going. People get ROWDY with that game underway!

ask everyone REALLY nice about their family and/or pets

if that doesn't work, raise CO2-levels to make everyone drowsy

Our skipper used to jack up our oxygen levels real high when it was time for field day ("janitorial marathon" for you non-navy types.) We'd all be wired like we drank a pot of coffee.

Especially the guys who also drank a pot of coffee

as an ex-mechanic in the airforce, I remember that air with high levels of oxygen was very flammable. Hope there were'nt any sparks on your sub!

Oxygen is not flammable, but it aids in combustion. In other words: Oxygen can't burn, but it makes other stuff burn really well.... so as long as nothing was actually on fire, we were good to go!
