Default Performance Tip: Turn off Vsync

Many people don't realize that at framerates below 60, vsync drastically reduces your framerate average. Since your graphics card must wait to refresh with the monitor inevitably frames get held up and performance is slowed.

Given this games unpolished nature and intense on sub graphics, Vsync OFF is bound to give almost everyone an improvement.

Could a graphics card go too hot if frame rates were to go to the hundreds? It's something that allegedly was an issue earlier with Eve online.

To be honest I have to say I never figured out if cards really ran hot with fps going into the hundreds.

I did encounter that in EVE (250 fps+ needed to lower some setting to get lower fps but not slower performance) and also in LoTR online, but I don`t think it would be issue since you won`t get that high FPS here.

Well, it's a choice between two evils. Either lower performance or horrendous screen tearing. With a strong card i would definatly use Vsync.
