Do stationary targets count?

I sunk the HMS Nelson at around 8km. Otherwise... multiple hits at 6km but that is far from normal.

It's a hit allright. But event camera kills 100% realism, though I think it doesn't affect targetting.

I didn't watch it on event camera. I watched it on my attack map, the little brown torpido icon stoped going forward and sort of drifted a little then disapeared.

I sunk a ASW Trawler at 3800m going away with a TI magnetic. I aimed at an AOB of ~120 degrees. I could not actually observe it, but I heard the hit, the crew sheered and I was told that she was going down. It was the first time I ever considered try to hit a target beyond 2km. And probably the last one too.
One can question how I prioritize the targets, running a TypeII. I don't... Nice shot anyway...

Law of Type II: What Type VII sinks with one torpedo, the type II always need two.

That's quite a distance then.
That dud must have pissed somebody off.

It put me right over the edge. Insted of lining up a second shot I orderd flank speed and imidiatly started shelling them. I don't know what time it was exactly but I think I may have spilled the skiper's tea, very much ruening his tea time, as they didn't make much of an attempt at evasion.

It all would have worked out well if it weren't for the armed trawler that saw the whole thing hapening and tried to intervine. I got the kill in the end but it took longer than I wanted it to what with trying to escape the whole time. Though I did come away with two kills rather than the one.

Not really... I rarely use more than one torpedo against targets, since I can't afford it.

Got a hit from 4700m. Couldn't get a screenshot though
Several other hits from 2 to 3km.

Time to return port and refit with Hitman's optics.

5,000m on a convoy attack in 1944. it hit a tanker in the first row in good weather conditions. Didn't live long to enjoy it though

The weather or the torpedo hit?
