Default SH5 questions and answers 10/02/2010

SH5 questions and answers 10/02/2010 , 10.02.2010

Will there be historical important events on the map during missions, for instance after the Bismarck incident in 1941 the British put a considerable fleet to shadow the Tirpitz in the English channel, will they be there or are you going with the random generated nameless ships.

Most of the historical events will be there and will happen in the world even if the player is in proximity or not. Also, if a battleship happens to be sunk, it won’t appear in the game anymore.

Will holes made by the deck gun below the water fill the ship with water ( several times in SH3 i would put 3 or 4 rounds into a cargo ship from lest then 100m move off to a safe distance and watch it sail away at full speed and NOT SINK.)

Damage feedback is more accurately represented now in 3D and also in the way a ship will sink due to that damage.

Yes, "more accurately", but I suppose this is not even close to "very" ...

3D deformation of a ship's hull ?
Now I just can't wait to read Neal's review of this game.

[Edit]

Aw no, only the damage feedback is represented in 3D.

Does not alter by belief that the missions will be scripted to some extent

Well yes they probably will be, similar to those in SH3 and because they will need some level of historical accuracy.

Is it me or are these to Q&A as useless as the others? The first question has allready been awnsered in a preview months ago.
The second one is something i could have figured out myself? Why bother with a Q&A if no real usefull information is given anyway.

Concerning historical events and scripts: Sounds to me like the approach GWX went, and I was MORE then just happy with that. The users actions have impact on the overall actions of the Allies, yet major historical events (Op. Weserübung, Dunkirk) will appear and to a certain extend hold the lines of WW2. Sounds reasonable to me.

Concerning damage system: Has been modded several times already and I am willing to bet my last torpedo that it will be among the moddable aspects of SH5 as well. I do however applaud that they at least go in the direction of flood-sinking and let us hope that hp-kills will be (at least to a certain extend) made less attractive.

Concerning 3D deformation: In the old days, when SH5 was still only a dot on the horizon, there were promises that you could even shred the bow off a destroyer and she might limp on. (Looky here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Eskimo_(F75)) Sounds promising to me. If it is actually in the game ...
