The waves certaintly don't look right. I don't know if it's just because of some weird perspective thing, but the big wave to the lower left of the ship looks taller than a turret. Which would make it 5+ meters high.

Somehow the scale doesn't feel right.

Yea... the waves look rong...
Bad quality, but atlanic...

more atlanic

Ocean needs to be more grey, larger waves... less cheery...

and I also feel this game could have binifited with abit of DOF...

Also the ship textures look very flat...

lol... sh5... (see, a Uboat, Viic, and the bismark.) lol

I wonder what is the reason for no crewmen on watch on the surfaced screenshots. The lack of clearly visible dynamic shadows is also a let down for me. Anyway, I'm still on the "positive side": wait and see, I guess.

Indeed if you compare a crewman with the size of the waves would make them 6 meters at least, however distance from one crest to another is too large and that "like a mid-calm shinny day" look and colour makes it appear as if the bismarck is an RC toy that's been put on the sea. What fools the scaling also, and one things that too few 3d gaming artists tends to look at when implementing ocean is the damn shinnyness on the sea!!! it's ok to have some for calm sea state, there the sea would produce lots of sparkle such as this:

But darn! No sparkles on big waves!!! it ruins the depectition of rough sea states as it once again lure you into a contrast inbetween calm state that would produce sparkle and rough state that wouldn't. And what kills the overall scaling also very much lies in the sparkle being far too huge! look the size of them compared to crewmen! should you look at the sea, would you see 1+ meter large sparkle?!?:

indeed a bit of DOF would have tricked the scale perception and give a bigger look to the bismark. I doubt the game will showcase DOF on surface, except maybe when looking through the periscope... However, it seems implemented in underwater external cam, so that's good news.

As for the textures, you are very right, they have a very flat look to them... Lacks rust and details, whatever would give a massive steel feeling to it which those textures quite fails to give.

IMO there is dynamic shadows! you can see them, only the shadows, in this example, looks to be very soft and blurry, which is very accurate if the scenery is taking place during an overcast day , just as in real life overcast days will soften and blur shadows. However same problem here, as the colors and overall tone of the screenshots do not match those of an overcast day in the atlantic though the waves and some clouds you see in the distance tends to suggest it is one.

If it was destroyer size- waves structure would be just fine !

But it seems to be Battleship... on windy honey surface... wish it was water waves

Enough with the dynamic shadows already! We said numerous times that they were added to the game. Some of the screen shots do not have them because they were not activated at that time.

Edit: besides, in the Bismarck shots you CAN see dynamic shadows.

Yes, i explained why the shadows looked like this and were thus barely "noticeable". Read previous posts before bashing shadows aren't always ultra crisp and sharp, depends on the time of day and wheather condition

Don't worry... 90% of games have so called "advanced video options" so you can switch ; no shadows / low quality / mid quality / high dynamic shadows... or something simmilar
( adjust to your graphic card power )

The more screenshots i see . The more i begin to think that we wont have any crew-topside option. But if we can have crew on enemy ships topside why cant we have them on our own u-boats?
