Default Music Format

What music format plays on CD player in your car or a portable CD player?

Exactly. I buy the music at MP3 and my daughter has it on her player. My wife wants it on CD to play in the car.

Whatever program you use, configure the MP3 codec. The default config usually produces poor quality.

I use WMP also. The deal was purchasing music from Amazon. It is MP3 format. Obviously it will play on Ipod but when burned to disc it will not play in a portable CD player or the automobiles CD player.

You'll need a program that converts mp3 to wav the cda (compact disk audio) is just a shortcut,
not a format if I remember right.

Shortcut points where the data (16bit 44.1 KHz wav file) is in the cd.

Some CD burner programs has converter built in, like Nero which im using sometimes,
that came with the laptop I bought.
If not, then you'll need a program to convert mp3 to wave fromat at 16 bits, 44.1KHz.
and then use a burner program that can burn audio cd's.

dbpoweramp is perty cool cuz it has tons of converters and codecs. But its not free.

EAC is THE tool for making mp3's, burning audio-cd's and it's free.

I use the LAME encoder to make my mp3's whenever possible. Lame.exe that the EAC needs. That's free also.

Usually when you buy a PC it comes along with some sorta burner application which
oughta have converters built in. If not, google mp3 to wav. Or just learn to use EAC, it's not extremely hard.

Just use the open source program Audacity.
It exports automatically mp3 files to wav files.

Then use the freeware program Img Burn to burn the wav files to a cd audio.
