If you really get this or if you ever travel to the north, never underestimate the use of good winter tires, they are of a critical importance, trust me.

If snow in D.C. doesn't stay enough long, and you don't want to invest on tires, be extremely careful, I know very well how bad it can be.

Oh I forgot,

Without winter tires, avoid steep slope at all cost, try to take another way event if it's much longer.

And if you guys have a 4X4, ok it can be very cool in snowy condition, but remember, when the time has come to brake, it doesn't make any difference.

I think that's all for my tips.

Agreed.

I'll add one. Drive your vehicle as though it had no brakes, and avoid using them, at all.

Oh, I'm not going ANYWHERE. I'm well provisioned (though I did make an error in not getting more dog treats...well, I guess human food can substitute if I run out).

My kids are done for school until after the 1st of the new year. It worked out for them. Problem is, this snow will paralyze the state of Maryland for weeks on end. It is really sad the amount of snow fairies here. Heck, 1/2 inch of snow will paralyze the state. If Maryland got snow like you most would just breakdown and cry for hours on end. Not only that, I have some more Christmas shopping to do. Today was a wash and tomorrow will not be much better. A lot of folks will be bum rushing the malls come Monday. Fortunate I have just a few things left. I shop like I'm on a mission anyway so it is all good.

If you decide to go on a shopping mission, here some (again!) tips:

- Snow Brush are a must!

- Keeping a small shovel in your car can be a good idea.

- Bringing a buddy with you is also a good idea! (if jammed, one pushes the gas pedal while the other pushes the car).

- Traction aid are great too.

- Avoid steep slope, the smoother the tilt, the better it is.

And don't do the same as those guys!!!
