Yes it is good stuff. I was just reading Icefish's report, page 5, and this jumped out at me:

Quote:
May 21
1204 Sighted large unidentified aircraft, 14 miles to northward, closing. No
contact on SD radar which we are keying 5 secs. out of every 30 secs.
Submerged. (A.C. #1).
This is interesting as I was just reading a post on the SH3 boards complaining that the poster was sighting aircraft but not getting them on radar. Funny that it happened in real life.

Also interesting is this note, and how it relates to the SH4 time zone discussions.

Quote:
May 27
0000 Set all clocks back one hour to -8 zone (HOW) time. Henceforth, all times will be HOW time unless otherwise designated.
And there are quite a few aircraft sightings.

The reports that list times as 08:00G or some-such, are referring to the timezones by the letter. There's a map somewhere that shows the breakdown.

Glad to find that sight as lots of them at Chief of the Boat are broken.

I'm reading the report of the USS Flying Fish. In the begining, the captain reporting the torpedos malfunctions! Then this passage:

"June 5
0301
On 100 mile circle from Midway. Sighted darkened ship in bright moon light, estimated range 5000-6000 yards and submerge for periscope approach. Upon closing the range identified target as U.S. Submarine, patrolling at slow speed."

Great find, I gotta look up all the S-boat patrols from Guadalcanal. (see S-44 vs Kako)
