Circular Torpedo

Im making a SH IV film and need to force faultiness on a torpedo for it to do the very unwanted Circulary Torpedo nightmare.

I have a pretty good idea what the answer is going to be but i ask anyways...

mod the torpedo file to have 100% chance of circle runner

it probably wont be 100% in game because the game randomises stuff sometimes but i think you'll see 3 or 4 out of 5 do it

Well you can call me thick...

Ive only just had some time to look for the file to adjust the Random Values for Faulty Torpedoes and can only find 1 file for German Ammunition in the game and the Torpedoes section dosent have any Values for Dud, Circular Running, Early Detonation ect

Ive only found 1 file close to that and that is for the Torpedo Tubes to Jam & Chamber Explosion.

If you want to look for yourself this is the file path i have took.

C:/Program Files/Ubisoft/SH4/Data/UPCDataGE/UPCUnitsData/Ammunition

The one for the Tubes to Jam/Chamber Explosion is the other one called Weapons.

Both opened with Notepad. Any feedback will be great.

Dont know if i have missed a file but ive been pretty rigorous in my search.

Cheers

/usr/data/library/torpedos_us.sim

You'll need S3D to open it and edit it. Make sure you edit the right fish (mark 14 most likely).

Well ive had a look and the torps still want to run straight.

Im modifying the TII German Torpedo as im using a U-boat for what im doing and out of 10 torps........ All 10 went straight after i modified the folder for Circular Runner Chance of 100.0 lol.

TII is the Torpedo that has the most problems according to the Info on it & ive also tried the TIII with the same results.

Im not sure for it to work you have to set it up to hit a target cos ive been just firing them off at nothing while submerged and they just swim straight.

im pretty sure you DO have to set them to a target or they will always go straight

the circle runner was an error in the stearing system and if its not stearing the error may not apply

i have torpedo test missions you can use for targetting practice on stationary ships so you can test the torpedos

Webster, have you released your test missions? I did, just as a weird brain fart and they've turned out to be one of the most popular things I've done.

Dirty nasty secret: behind every modder you will see a plethora of carefully crafted test missions that can be A LOT of fun to do.
