Lack of proper navigational charts forces me to ping depths.
Sometimes I have to do this when destroyer sails at 3-4 km distance from me. Does it hear my ping ? I have experienced mixed results from destroyers part when measuring depth. Occasionally I'm depth charged which isn't funny when avoiding it by diving. |

They cannot hear your depth under keel ping, but CAN hear your range finding pings from the sonar room if you are equipped

Like what was allready said it's not modeled in the game. Sh3 game engine AI does not know. But if it was for real your A** would be grass.

in GWX plus OLC with long repair times, youll take damage from depthcharges redicilously easy, so i have sadly had do quit my duck hunting
