yes I was away for about a month and the rumor is that this mod will be starting up again soon and I will be looking for co modders hopefully peeps that can do some changes to code or files to achieve the desired effects I want and expand the limitations of sh3.

Hey thanks been working on this for a while but took a break lol. I wasn't going to release it because of second thoughts I had which the X1 software piracy scandle served to reinforced but I changed my mind. This won't be released until after X1 releases their pirated mods because I'm sure they'd love to get their thieving little hands on this mod for their "compilation" (whatever) cd to sell. of course that would be illegal according to my EULA and TOG heheheh.

Anyone using other mods/new model mods etc that want those skins upgraded or redone as a option in this mod let me know please and post the mod aswell as a link so I can take a look at it and see if I need any permission from their respective owners prior to upgrading them. Anything "modified" that is not mine will be credited within the mod and listed Unless it is a "original work" skin I did for example.

Finally there is light at the end of the tunnel as far as seperate gun tga's and this mod will be full steam ahead. Huge thanks to sergbuto for finding a simple solution going by his release thread of the mod dat file. I'm going to check it out tomorrow in more depth and maybe finish the bismarck up.

There is still alot of work to do for the mod but it will come in time. I will keep the community updated as to it's progress as much as I can along the way. Any requests etc Ideas or comments (constructive) are welcome during the modification progress so please feel free to comment, request or show your support. I appreciate the communities input and ideas etc. If you would like to see something added or done in the mod then please post it.

That should ensure that it remains a totally freely distributed mod.

I think with the scope of this mod it's going to need it's own site. I'm looking at a host now that gives 2 gigs of space and 5 gigabytes of daily bandwidth so downloads won't be a problem in the future. And its 7.99 a month -great deal.

The honor system is gone because as the saying goes "there is no honor among thieves" otherwise anybody can try to sell it use it, change something small and then claim it as theirs or exchange it in return for a "donation" which is why I made the liscence and use agreement to ensure that the mod remains a free mod to the end user.

It's a sad day for modding but what do ya do. All those pesky

yep but they set a presidence by not shutting down all previous sh3 released mods or the sites hosting them or even go after X1 to stop their planned release. Legally they have to enforce the agreement. But whether or not I'm going to get into the expense of a website is another story it's something I'm contemplating.

I know. Still funny you want others to comply to your own MOD EULA and do not comply to the SHIII EULA yourself.

yep free is free perriod, and "original" work is "original" work I wouldn't bother if I just put a sticker on a pre-existing skin and nothing else. I'm actually surprised the real world mod etc didn't try to put anything in to stop peeps from taking their work and selling it or changing it a bit and using it as their own.

yep or a 50 dollar donation....but some peeps want a cd copy and people don't realise the post office doesn't ship anything for free these days lmao. I won't be doing the cd thing too much hassel.This is all depending on how much time my clan is going to suck out of my life. Especially since a server is going to be up soon and I still have to do the whole site etc. But Battlefield 2 is worth it in my opinion and then there's the map editor release soon...oh my. Suppose to be out now so I have to check on it and see if they released it yet.
