So, I've finally decided to give RUB a go for my new campaign. There seems to be some "issues" that may or may not be related to RUB.... maybe i missed a file installing or something etc etc.
If these are known, or perhaps I did something wrong...... I installed RUB on a clean install w/ 1.4 patch, then added the smoke mod & big waves mod. 1. Crew no longer recovers while in quarters. Im only on my 3rd patrol, but Im always forced to return to port because my entire crew is so exhausted they can no longer load the torp tubes. (this typically @ the end of my patrol anyways.... almost all torps expended, and I always return with near 0 fuel. 2. Radar in '39? I saw 3 or 4 destroyers with the radar on the main mast. ![]() 3. All sorts of crazy harbar related issues. Airplanes dead in mid air, Ships in buildings! ![]() v ![]() 4. DDs don't recongize their own sub net placements and sail into them.... and just keep trying to go threw rather then reversing. ![]() 5. Ships no longer disappear after sinking. Seems to be causing a FPS issue on my machine. Here is a C2 i sank in shallow water early in my patrol, I crossed its path nearly a week later and it was still there. ![]() |

You may also want to convert them to .jpgs instead of .bmps to decrease file size and load times too.

Planes in mid-air have probably crashed into terrain that has not been rendered in your bubble. Ships in buildings is a problem with placement ships that spawn in port since patch 1.4, and not RUb. Quote:

1: That is because Beery changed the way fatigue works. The read_me has plenty of information about it.
2: Pretty sure this is also there in the Stock game but I'm not sure. 3: Don't know. haven't seen this 4: Stock game AI problem, I think. 5: I thought it was always like this? |

Ships I've sunk never vanish, unless they've blown up so bad that there's nothing left of them.
My 'killing fields' when I hunt are full of noisy corpses of ships, going underwater in free view you are treated to the sounds of many wrecks rumbling under the waves. So I think that's just how it is. In fact, ship carcasses even return if you load a save game, so I don't think wrecks go away until the end of the patrol.

Im not trying to blame RUB for the issues, just trying to sort them out by letting everyone know what I did to my game. In reply. 1. Thanks, I'll take a look @ the readme again to see what i can do about the fatigue. I like how my crew lasts longer @ station then before, just gotta figure out how to get em some rest now ![]() 2. Gotcha on the radar, never noticed it before though..... ![]() 3. Bad spawns etc etc, Gotcha I don't have the traffic mod installed, the pict was actually from an enemy port. I rarely if ever go in those, very unrealistic to go raiding like that..... so its really no concern. 4. Not much of an improvement from SH2 IC lol 5. They definately did disappear before I uninstalled/ reinstalled with RUB. I used to follow em down. I actually think its a bit better, if only my FPS didn't seem to suffer the rest of the mission. |
