I didn't change my drivers, but i am going to look into that this evening.
Turns out my system exceeds the minimum requirements for the game, exceeds for recommended RAM, meets for recommended video card memory, even though my card is not listed (GeForce 8600M GT). Very disappointing, and it also says laptop versions of the "listed" video chipsets are not supported... and the machine on which I have SH4 installed is a laptop. OK... at 17 inches it's more like a desktop replacement, but still "portable". It would be nice if they'd have considered laptop driver support, because not all of us are able to play on a desktop unit... TG

the cpu and video specs are ok but forget about the recommended ram, you need at least 2gb or ram to avoid ctd issues
also large mods will increase the specs you need due to the added content so keep that in mind. as Task Force said, RFB might be more than your computer can handle, try FOTRS, TMO, or GFO mods and see how they run |

FOTRS is a good mod. Great eye candy!

Using FOTRS, the torpedoe angles are readily visibile on the Attack Map. Not so in RFB. In fact, using the Easy AoB mod in RFB is pretty much a waste of time because I cannot verify the torpedoe angle on the Attack Map. Any comments, sir? What were they thinking?

thanks for all the help... i've already done all this and nothing has resolved the issue. Next I might try to manually update my video driver.
I suppose I should count my blessings that stock SH4 works as well as it does, considering that my video card is not on the supported list... I might just have to go back to that. By the way, who is this Luke that was mentioned earlier in the thread? TG

i hope i'm not speaking too soon, but i updated my video driver and completely reinstalled the game and the mod, and the crash seems to have stopped happening...
One thing that does concern me is that I try to lock on a target in the scope or TBT and unless the target is very close, the lock won't stay locked! Does anyone know why this happens? I don't recall seeing this in the RFB manual. EDIT - never mind, i did find this in the manual... is it a bug in the game itself?? Thanks TG
