Default Type IXC possible armament problem

I just have to ask, Does IXC have heavy flak gun ? Since in my current career i have IXC and it is the begining of '42 but the only flak armament i have is 1 double 20mm gun. Is that the way it is suposed to be ?

Since i am pretty sure that IXB have 1 heavy flak in the begining of the war.And as far as i checked (on the internet) the flak armament in IXB/C is the same.

Flakvierlings aren't an option until '43 IIRC.

The original technical weapons specification for the IXB and IXC are indeed the same, but when built, some were changed or altered prior to commissioning, depending on the weapons systems that were available.

I guess the theory always defers from reality.Howeever Im not sure ive got the answer of my question.

Is the ingame uboat type IXC have heavy flak or not.Since if it should have (as mine doesnt) i fear some strange mod collision bug thing.

Yes, it has! But in game the Type IXc allways comes with bridge 2 (two light flak installemnts), so no heavy flak. You can choose bridge 1 and doing so, you have the option to choose the heavy flak (the 3.7 cm gun). Becuase the aspect of the sub now is like the IXb! I do this because I like the "classical look" of the type IX!

i actually found the heavy flak to be completely useless? i can't hit planes with it (and neither can my flak trained gunners) and its very limited against ships.
i switch to the type 2 bridge because those twin zweilings make for a wall of fire!

The deadliest armament you can have is the twin 37mm (when available).
