Default I MISS SEEING MY BOAT WHEN SUBMERGED. RUB mod

I know when i installed the RUB mode its going to be realistic, am i am very happy with the mod, its excellent. But i do miss going to external view and have a look at my beautiful beast cruising submerged, its a grand sight and sometimes i would get lost in my own little world and just watch it travelling the depths of the deep blue sea! Until a destroyer swished past and dropped a depth charge then i would snap out of it

How can i edit whatever file i need too and make the water clearer when submerged.

Default water is available for re-install at this thread.

Useful for people like you and myself, who installed a new watermod and neglected to backup the original.

Here is a preview, it moves the fog in closer to your sub, so you can still see it, but maybe not that destroyer above you. It is one variable, easily modded. As I type, I think Beery and Co are working on colour changes to suit this new change. Expect new better water mods..... VERY SOON..

think DAS BOOT

This screenie is the standard sea colours from 1.4b, just fog comes in a lot closer...

Luvly...

Thanks macstu23, i'll fix it right away.

I'll also hope the new water mods to come out will have different options, maybe the dark and the not so dark and maybe a tint of green water?

cheers everyone

The combination of the old color fog mod and the new fog modifications will be more realistic, sure.

Yeah i'm the same...I like to be able to see underwater, but more fog than the default is desirable. Just a hint of green would be nice too. i have tried messing around with the SH3 colour inspector before, but it's tricky getting it just right without making it too dark. Look forward to seeing what's coming soon. Your screenshot looks bang on Jace.

Manuels tutorial in that thread is first class, I set my outer fog value to 6. Its an easy DIY with a hexeditor for water modders.

Thanks to Manuel, I've already made the change for the upcoming version of RUb. Check it out. These were taken in the evening, so they're a bit darker than in the daytime (and they're compressed into JPG format, so they don't look as good as a full screenshot):

Here are a couple in better light:

Manuel Ortega posted a link above, but easy to miss. Here again:

You can also download this very promising looking mod from the same autor. The water mod is also included here. It´s still a little beta, but is a great improvement!
