Default Tube not loading

I'm Half way through my maiden patrol. I was ordered to patrol BF18. I have managed to sink a large merchant after tracking it fo 14 hours in extemely heavy seas with fog and intermitent rain. Ater finishing my patrol I began heading north just west of Ireland. I have just spotted a small convoy of 4 ships. However I just noticed my torpedo tubes from my last engagment have not reloaded. I check to insure that the torpedo room was maned and it is with 5 men. I have been cruiseing for 2 hours getting into postition for a torpedo run and the still have load. So any ideas why?

I also check to ensure auto loading was check in the weapons management screen.

Try to lock the tube doors (select the actual tube and push "W") - they might be open. This you can actually see if you go to "outside" view (.).

Are you still on silent running from the last engagement? As long as silent running is in force, the tubes will not reload. You might need more than five men too. Add more until the green bar over the torpedo room is full to the right.

Default Another tip...

Don't forget to cycle to the next tube (Y-key) after you've launched a torpedo to close that now empty tube's door. If you suddenly have to go deep while the the tube door is still open it won't reload no matter how many guys you cram in that compartment. I've forgotten to do this a number of times & sat there wondering why the tube won't load!

Fill two upper rows with ordinary crew men including one torpedoman specialist PO and tubes will be loaded in 12 min each. One or two crew men less loading time increases to 24 min.

Don't load underwater near enemy warships because they will hear you and tommy will crap depth charges on your boat.

To be honest, it was so far back in the search, and with so few threads on this in general, that I really didnt want it to get sent to the archives and not be searchable. If i had this happen to me repeatedly in game, it would be a deal breaker for me and I'd be turned off by the game. OF course, you could jsut RP it as a mechanical failiure.

And I wanted to express my appreciation for peoples help on here, yer all awesome.

Nothing wrong with resurrecting an old thread - in fact sometimes it's the best way to go. It's just nice when you mention that you're doing it. Your post reads like a response to something posted yesterday.
