Having problems. GWX3.0, SH Commander 3.2

Hi All,

In two careers now I've encountered the same problem. I'm running the above mods along with SH3Gen and JSGME in Winxp. Typically around the 10th - 12th patrol of a successful career, when I load it via SH3Commander (or even without using SH3Commander) I get the windows msg "a problem was encountered...etc"...

Also I've noticed the past couple of careers when I'm in SH3 Commander and click on the "Update your personnel files" a warning box pops up stating "Invalid argument to date encode", not allowing me into those files.

Any idea what is going on here? Getting tired of not being able to progress in a career.

Update: Now, I'm attempting to start a new career in the 7/13 Flotilla. I create the name in SH3 Commander, the career beginning in Sept '39. After launching SH3 via SH3 Commander, the beginning date shows up as Aug 1st, '39. I've tried this with several different names (deleting the previous careers).

Scratching my old bald head and becoming frustrated to a degree.

Cheers,
Scott

I have the exact same problem, so you're not alone.

EDIT: Found some info on this matter

Thanks for the link. However I wasn't having problems getting renown, and I hadn't made any mods to the sub after starting the career.

I can't figure out why the sim will not let me start a new career on Sept 1. I set it for that date, but in the briefing screen the calender will show Aug 1 (don't want to spend a month - virtually - mucking about doing nothing). However the sim will show Oct 1 if I select that date....most strange.

What really has me concerned is the windows error msg later in the career(s). If the sim is going to crash and I can't progress beyond a certain point, what's the use of even trying?

Cheers,
Scott

Just saw this in another recent post:

"The save game bugs are my biggest peeve(s) with SH III. I've never seen a game with so many issues around saving (don't save within 50km of objects or land, don't save while submerged, etc.). I don't know about SH IV but I hope that these particular issues are resolved in SH V before it's released.

Started another 29th Flotilla career with U-73. Hopefully this patrol turns out alright - sank an Empire-type freighter in my assigned grid so I'm keeping my fingers crossed..."

This last career I had been submerged when I saved it. That might explain the windows error msg...still frustrating though...

Cheers,
Scott
